First time home buyer closing cost

Hi all need your advice

I’m closing a home in BC burnaby. I’m trying to figure out if I should go for notary lawyer or FCT provided by the bank. What are the pros and cons with each and what would you recommend. Really appreciate the help!

First time home buyer advice

Hi there

I’m a first time home buyer who is 30 yo. And I have money to buy a townhouse but don’t wnat to exhaust all my life savings in a townhouse that would cost me 900k in Vancouver. I was looking to buy a condo but they come up to 670k and it’s 38 year old. Honestly condo market is apparently down. Does it make sense to invest in a condo that old and maybe in three to four years upsize or wait it out rent save some more and buy a townhouse in a year?

Also I’m curious if a house is 650k how much should I keep aside as part of closing cost and everything else.

Appreciate any help here!
