Should I keep this 2020 HiHy from Carvana?
A week ago I got a 2020 Toyota highlander hybrid xle from Carvana. 110,000 miles for $32k including taxes and fees.
Honestly, I love the car. My wife loves the car. It’s everything we wanted. Except it has a few issues that I’m working with Carvana to sort out and I just wanted to ask for advice from anyone that has owned this car.
Issues so far:
\- hearing a clunk when I drive over bumps (took it in and it appears to be a control arm issue)
\- sunroof rubber seal is rotted (you can see out to the sky, thankfully this is also where the controlled leak comes in with sunroofs)
\- drivers window does not work properly (the rubber seal on the inside appears to have been crammed down inside the door)
\- I also have started noticing the brakes seem to have some thudding (pushing down hard and they skip like they are old)
The first 3 issues have been brought to Carvana and they are sending me to a shop to have them fixed. I haven’t brought up the brakes yet because I’ve been trying to figure out everything else.
These seem like typical used car things. So I just want to have my sanity checked here. The car seems worth that price to me. It is less than I was seeing other dealerships charge near me. And after tomorrow I can no longer return the car, but I still have about 100 days since date of purchase to make warranty claims about most issues (mechanical/electrical).
Other things to note in case anyone is curious:
I financed through my local credit union ($27k @ 6.5%).
Hybrid system and engine all appear to work great. The car drives great. I love driving an SUV and getting 30-40mpg.
