I did. On the day he sold out, too. I think I was one of the last 50.
Well, it's been quite a good 2 days, overall. Overall, being the key word. Void's trailing behind us, looking more sleepy than a Komala. And Komala is always asleep. Stella is somehow perfectly awake, cheerful as always, Meteo is staggering due to how sleepy he is, and Aria is snoring so loudly you could hear it from back at base.
I, on the other hand, am awake, with problems. Stella asks me, "So how much sleep did you get, Aero?" Groggily, I respond, "Zip. Zilch. Nada. Zero." I drop my head into the ground, figuratively and literally. We stop, hearing a Pokémon cry. Sounded like it was scared. I run towards the cry, revealing to me a Pokémon battle underway. It looked like an Electivire and a Houndoom against an Eevee, and the Eevee was in extreme pain.
My crew rushes to join me, with Stella giving off a horrified and sad expression on her face. She says "Oh...what're they doing to that Eevee?" I get a closer look, and it looks like Houndoom and Electivire are about to fire off powerful attacks, giving off evil smirks. Now I understand. This Eevee is getting bullied by Houndoom and Electivire. I'm not usually a defender of land creatures, but I did help Riolu learn Vacuum Wave, how is Eevee different?
That's when it hit me! This Eevee has an extra tail! Probably a genetic problem. Either way, I'm not letting these guys bully him. they fire off what appeared to be Thunderbolt and Flamethrower, and Eevee cowers in fear. I run up to them, and jump in front of the attack, screaming in immense pain. I turn to see everyone shocked, figuratively speaking, while Stella seems scared. I can just barely move my hands, but that's all I need to switch the Band to the Water-type, allowing me to tank the Flamethrower, as both moves run down.
The Houndoom and Electivire share stunned faces, as I shoot a Hydro Pump at the Houndoom, smirking, and I dive into the Hydro Pump at breakneck speed, holding out my fist at the Electivire, as the Band makes my hand pulse with energy. My fist suddenly feels stronger, but I can't figure out why. As my fist makes contact with Electivire's chest, it gets sent tumbling quickly along the ground. My fist actually has smoke rising from it, so I check my band to see what happened.
My Band starts glowing, and that glow suddenly starts to swirl around me, like a tornado, also protecting Eevee. As the tornado starts rising, though, so does the wind's strength. I start getting a little concerned, as my hair whips upwards. I hear trembling, and at first, I thought it was my stomach. Then I look down, and I notice the ground cracking apart below me and Eevee.
Eevee looks terrified, cowering once again in fear. I start getting scared, as the tornado suddenly turns into a floating orb of destruction, flying higher and higher by the second. There's no way out of here. I also cower in fear, but I hear Stella calling from out of the orb, "Come on, Aero! You've GOTTA get out of there!" I reply, "I can't! There's no safe way to get out of here! We're trapped!" Suddenly, I hear Eevee shout to me, "We must get out of here!"
I'm shocked. And I thought Riolu was the only talking Pokémon. Eevee says, predicting what I was gonna say, "Yes, I can talk. Your Riolu's not the only one, buddy." Riolu pops out, saying, "HEY!!!" I could tell Riolu was offended. She goes in for a punch, but Eevee catches the fist with his tails. Riolu is, to say, surprised. I could just barely see a single sweat drop on her face. She seems worried. Eevee smiles, and tosses Riolu around above him, eyes shut, not knowing he's creating a ball of wind.
He sends Riolu, and the WInd Ball, soaring upwards, and I fear what'll happen to Riolu. Suddenly, Riolu gets sucked up into the Wind Ball, and makes it out of the orb! Suddenly, it clicks: Fighting-type moves aren't very effective against Flying-type Pokémon. The Wind Ball acted like a Flying-type shield for Riolu! I'm amazed at this Eevee's capabilities!
He then spins his tails again, creating an even bigger Wind Ball than earlier. I think he's using this one for me. Eevee then says, "Well, what're you waiting for? Let's get back at those guys!" He must be talking about the Houndoom and Electivire. I crawl into the Wind Ball, and Eevee hops in, and he playfully says "All aboard! Next stop, outside this Orb Of Destruction!"
The Wind Ball then starts rising, and we fly outside the ball, and we notice the Houndoom and Electivire looking up at us, absolutely terrorized, and me and Eevee turn to face each other with mischievous grins, as we hop out of the Wind Ball, Water Pulse and Hurricane at the ready. We fire them off together, having the Water Pulse engulf the Hurricane, as Eevee turns the combined move to Electivire and Houndoom, both of them knowing what's going to happen:
Them getting sent flying across the region, and the Orb Of Destruction being shut off just by slapping the Band. Everyone comes running towards me and the twin-tailed Eevee, Stella running up to hug me, blushing, crying, "I thought I'd never see you again, Aero!" I tell her, "Hey, easy. Take a chill pill, girl." Eevee then asks, "What, so is she like, your girlfriend?" I start blushing and sweating, as Meteo, Aria, and Void start chuckling, and I furiously say, "Enough!"
Aria points out, cheerfully, "Well, hey! We made it!" We turn around to see a town that is absolutely bustling with Trainers and their Pokémon. Aria continues, "Ladies and gentlemen, and Pokemon, I present to you: Pegaraft City!" Stella says, tearfully, exactly what I was thinking: "It's...so gorgeous! The lights, the architecture, all of it...astounding..." Suddenly, a man with a white T-shirt, a blue overcoat, green shoes, and a yellow cap shows up, and says "Well, well! New Trainers! Have you come to challenge the Pegaraft City Gym?" Everyone points at me and says, "He does. We don't."
The man says, "And who might this challenger be?" I introduce myself, saying, "My name is Aero, and I've come to challenge the Pegaraft City Gym Leader, uhh... Aria, what was their Gym Leader's name again?" Everyone falls over due to the outrageous question, and Aria responds, "His name is MYTON!" I say, "Right," then turn back around, resuming, "My name is Aero, and I've come to challenge the Pegaraft City Gym Leader, Myton!" The man curiously repeats, "So, you want to challenge Myton, the Normal-type Gym Leader?"
I say, "Uhh...yeah..." The man says, "Then meet me at the Gym. You'll see me when you know it." He walks away with his Pokémon, which looked like a Magikarp turned into a radio. I check my Pokédex, and it reads, "Sonikarp. The Radio Fish Pokémon. A Normal/Water type. It blasts sonic waves from the disc-like scales on its body. It uses these scales to protect itself if threatened." I say, excited, "Oh, AWESOME! So that's a Sonikarp, huh? Must be a regional variant of Magikarp.
I then notice the Eevee walking away back into the forest, and I ask, "Where're you going?" Eevee replies, "Well, I just decided to return the favor of you saving me from those guys back there by helping you out of that giant orb, so I guess we're even. He then starts using his two tails to hover back to the forest, but I stop him, saying, "Hold on, little fella. I've never seen any talent like that from any normal Eevee. You're something special. And besides, if you go back to that forest, more Pokémon may try to mock you and your tails."
Eevee thinks, saying "You do make a good point...hmm..." I then say, "You might be useful if we have to face more Fighting-types. I hear an "AHEM" next to me, and I see Riolu looking unimpressed, saying "I'm standing right here, man." I say, trying not to change the subject, "Anyway, you've proven that you're more than powerful enough to be part of my team. I've NEVER seen an Eevee use a Flying-type move! What do you say? Wanna team up?"
I bring out a Luxury Ball, and put it in front of Eevee, and everyone is shocked. Eevee looks up at me, then back at the Luxury Ball, then back at me, and says, excitedly, "Of course!" He taps his paw on the button to the Luxury Ball, enclosing Eevee, shaking three times, and clicks, turning green. I cheer ecstatically, saying, "Alright! I caught an Eevee!" Void, Stella, and Aria jump up behind me, all joyous. I then make a big decision: I'm going to nickname Eevee and Riolu.
I decide to nickname Riolu "Mighty," and Eevee "Gemini." I toss the Luxury Ball upwards, shouting, "COME ON OUT, GEMINI!" Gemini shows up, sparkling, shouting "Right here!" I notice the sparkles, then it clicks: Gemini is not only a twin-tailed Eevee, but also a Shiny Eevee. And so is Big Blue (Staraptor,) Ember (Torchic,) and Mewtwo! Aria faints after also realizing. As we find out that over half my team is Shiny, more questions arrive:
Why didn't I know these guys were Shiny?
Who was that guy with the Sonikarp?
What did he mean by "you'll see me when you know it?"
BWAAAUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!
And WHY didn't I turn off the Band? I just got hit by another Hydro Pump to the face!
Void: Seems like a skill issue.
Me: Shut up, Void.
Stella: Yeah. It was just a tiny mistake.
Meteo: Why're you defending Aero, Stella? Do you-?
Me: Why are you suddenly interrogating her?
Aria: And Aero, why did you just-?
Me: A-ANYWAY, let's go to the Pegaraft City Gym!
The answers to come, as the journey continues!
As we're on our way to Ocekirk Town, we bump into a mysterious figure, who looks...familiar to me. The person says "You still love bird Pokémon? You really ARE crazy, Alex." Me, Void, and Stella are shocked as we each take a step back. I ask her, "Who are you, and how do you know my name?" She replies, "Don't you remember me?" She walks out of the shadows, and I instantly recognize her: my childhood rival, Aria!
She really has grown since we were littler. I remember she used to wear a teal dress with a purple headband all the time. But now, she's in a yellow shirt, black shorts, red shoes, and a cyan headband. She knows me too well. She knew back then I loved the color cyan. She also had blue eyes, just like me and Stella. Behind her, she had a Kilowattrel. I didn't know she was into Electric-type Pokémon.
Then something clicked in my head: Aria was the person who shot us down when we were flying over! I recall Kilowattrel is an Electric-Flying type, whose electric attacks could set wings on fire. I ask her, "Did you-" before she interrupts me, confirming, "Yes, I did electrocute you guys. Sorry about that." She nervously giggles, as she put her hand to the back of her head. I'm pretty confident she's being genuine.
Void gets up, angry about the truth. He starts trying to throw hands, shouting "Why, you little- Get over here so I can punch your sorry face into next Saturday!" Stella grabs my arm, scared for a second, then confused, as we both look at a nonchalant Aria blocking Void and his fists, with just her bare hand, fake yawning at him, and I knew that as a clear sign of disrespect.
I walk in between them, saying, "Okay, guys. Calm down. Introductions are in check right now. Void and Stella, this is Aria. Aria, Void and Stella." Stella is ecstatic, saying joyously, "Oh, it is SO great not being the only girl here. Can I shake your hand?" They shake hands, but Aria is not amused, saying monotonously, "Yeah, sure. Whatever." She then asks, "And where are you guys going exactly?"
I reply, confidently, "We're going to Ocekirk Town, where I'll get my first Gym Badge." She says, "Uh, no you're not. That's the strongest Gym here in Moquia. You need to start off in Pegaraft City. Their Gym Leader, Myton, is the easiest. He specializes in Normal-type Pokémon." I reply, "Well, that's gonna be EASY! I got a Riolu with me. Riolu comes out of the Great Ball and says "You're got THAT right!" Aria shrieks after hearing Riolu speak.
I tell her, "Woah. Hey. It's okay, alright? Take it easy." She stammers, "T-T-T-Talking R-R-R-Riolu..." She fainted. I cannot believe this. I roll my eyes, and walk onward, until I hear Stella tell me, "We can't leave her here, can we?" I tell her, "Well, no, but why should we? She shocked us out of the sky." Stella says, "But...But... w-we CAN'T leave her out here!" She then tries Fidough eyes, and I tell her, "It's not gonna work, Stella." She keeps using Fidough eyes, and I slowly stop resisting, saying "Wh-Why are you still trying?" She STILL persists, and I cave in, saying, "RRRRRGH!!! FINE!!! But JUST because you look SO cute with Fidough eyes."
She cheers, "ALRIGHT!!!" I notice she's turning pink again, and so do I. I don't know why, though. I mean, sure, she's cute, but why am I turning pink? And WHY did I say she was CUTE?! I say, nervously, "Anyways, let's go to our NEW destination, Pegaraft City." As we make our way to Pegaraft City, Meteo leans over to me, asking while putting a hand between us and the others, "Did I see you blush at Stella, Aero? You sly dog. Or should I say, sly bird?" My eyes shrink in horror, sweat trickling down my pink face. Meteo continues, still smug, "Ahh. I knew it. Stella's found her way into your heart. Don't worry. I won't tell her."
I'm so mad at Meteo that steam is basically flying out of my ears. I start yelling at him, saying "H-How would YOU know that?! You-you don't know that! We only just met!" Oh, great. Now what? An even more smug grin. He says, mischievous, "You're getting defensive! You sure you don't like-her-like-her?" I try to ignore him, and I see Stella turning towards us. I turn the other way, "blushing," as Meteo says I'm doing, putting a hand behind my neck.
Along our route to Pegaraft City, Aria asks me, "So, since it's been years since we've seen each other, why not see how strong you've become?" She whips out a PokéBall right in front of me, and for a second, I thought she was gonna punch me. My scared face turns to a grin, saying to Aria, "Heh. Challenge accepted. But just know, I won't go easy on you."
We stare at each other, eye-to-eye, as Stella announces, "The battle between Aero and Aria will now commence! Each opponent is allowed one Pokémon on the field! The battle is over when one of either side's Pokémon are unable to continue! Neither Trainer is allowed to substitute!" And for a second, I could've swore I saw her blush and mutter "Good luck, Aero." She then continues, shouting "Let the battle COMMENCE!!!"
Aria says to me, confidently, "I'll make sure to finish this off quick and easy. So don't waste my time." I reply, cool as a cucumber, "Time is only wasted on menial things in life. This won't be one of those times for me. Heh. You're going DOWN! Alright, Wildfire, come on out!" I toss an Air Ball, and a humongous Charizard sprouts from the Air Ball, ready to bring the pain. Aria smirks, and shouts "RAICHU, LET'S CRUSH HIM!!!" A Raichu pops out of the Great Ball, looking as villainous as Night Sky.
I think to myself, "Heh. This'll be easy!" I shout "Alright, Wildfire, use Fissure!" Wildfire flies high, and energy starts to gather around it in the form of rays of light. Aria commands, "Raichu, use Thunderbolt!" Raichu fires lightning at Wildfire, and I knew he was in grave danger. I then command, "NOW, WILDFIRE! USE GYRO BALL TO DEFLECT THE THUNDERBOLT!!!" With that, Wildfire starts spinning while still charging energy, turning into a steel ball, absorbing the Thunderbolt like the 3-time Champion it is. Raichu and Aria are in awe, as Wildfire sends it back at them.
The attack makes contact, leaving a puff of smoke where Raichu stands. Wildfire flies down to stare down at Raichu. Raichu is scratched a little, but still able to get back up. At that point, Wildfire's eyes shimmer as if light hit its eyes from all directions, so I knew what was coming next. "NOW!!!" Wildfire drops down onto the ground, which starts to rumble around the battlefield, leaving Raichu and Aria in a state of horror, as they know they don't have any way to protect themselves.
The ground starts to split upwards, sending Raichu flying high in the sky, giving Wildfire a major advantage, considering Raichu has already taken MASSIVE damage. I give Wildfire another command: "WILDFIRE, USE BLAST BURN!!!" Wildfire gives a loud and proud roar as 4 flaming pillars rise from the Fissure, all surrounding Raichu. Aria commands, "Raichu, use Wild Charge to escape!" Raichu suddenly disappears in electricity as Blast Burn scorches nothing but the ground, turning it into glass. Wildfire is hit by Wild Charge, and he falls back down to the ground, just barely landing on his feet. As Raichu lands, I command Wildfire's ultimate attack. An unpredictable choice:
"NOW, WILDFIRE! COMBINE ALL YOUR ATTACKS INTO ONE SUPER ATTACK!!!" Wildfire nods in agreement, as I tap my headband, and the symbol radiates bright power, that reacts to Wildfire, and it suddenly is surrounded by rock fragments that later explode, and Wildfire has now changed form. Aria and Raichu are shocked, Aria saying, "MEGA EVOLUTION?!" Mega Wildfire flies high, its black body glowing, about to use Fissure, Blast Burn, Dragon Rush, and Shadow Claw at the same time. He dives down, surrounded by a blue aura, with dark purple slash marks surrounding, and cyan fire, glowing within.
Aria commands, "Now, Raichu! Use HYPER BEAM!!!" Raichu fires a ginormous beam of energy at Wildfire as he comes crashing down, spinning around and around. The Hyper Beam is split in two, and Mega Wildfire's combo attack connects, hitting Raichu with all four attacks at once, causing a massive explosion! The wind from the attacks total power is very strong, and I notice Void and Stella are about to get sent flying, so I grab their hands, grunting through the struggle.
I ask Void and Stella, "Are you two okay?" Void says "We're fine. But where's Meteo?" Meteo. Of COURSE!!! WHERE IS HE?! I turn to face a patch of trees, and Meteo is seen behind one of them. I thought he was safe, until I realized the tree was about to fall on top of him. In a desperate attempt, I run with Void and Stella in one arm, then jump, throwing them both past the tree, and pushing Meteo out of the way, just barely getting out of there.
We turn to the now ruined battlefield, where Mega Wildfire and Raichu stand. Raichu struggles a bit, then falls down, dazed. The wind settles down, as Mega Wildfire reverts back to normal. Stella, scared by the whole ordeal, stutters, "Uhhh...R-R-Raichu is unable t-t-to b-b-b-battle. Aero w-w-w-wins." I jump up, shouting "YEAH!!! Well done, Wildfire!" I return him to his Air Ball, as Aria walks up to me, looking upset. She then puts out her hand, smiling, and saying, "That was a very good battle. Let's battle like this again soon. I'll come back stronger, and I swear by it." I say, grinning, "Sure!" We shake hands, laughing.
Suddenly, my Band starts glowing again. This time, it starts glowing green. Everyone looks over me in awe, as a leaf symbol appears over the Band, then swirls into it. Aria asks, "Whoa. What just happened?"
I start asking myself new questions:
What just happened to the Band?
Why was I acting the way I was acting about Stella?
And when are we gonna get to a Pokémon Center? I need to eat.
My answers will show up soon, as the journey continues!
Me and Stella nervously stare at Shadow Mewtwo, sweat dripping down my face. I walk up to it, asking, "What did you do to Void?" Shadow Mewtwo glances at the two of us, then says, "What I had to do. He's a danger to you, and a danger to this planet. You mustn't trust him." I shout, "But WHY?! He's our FRIEND! We ALWAYS trust him!" Shadow Mewtwo shuts its eyes, clearly disappointed, then says "What fools you are." Stella shouts, angry, "Well we don't care what you say! When I'm through with you, you're going to be asking for mercy!" She throws an Ultra Ball, and a Corviknight pops out, and I can tell it's strong willed. She commands, "Excalibird, use STEEL WING!!!" Excalibird's wings start turning to iron, as it dives straight to Shadow Mewtwo. It doesn't move. Stella looks at Shadow Mewtwo, smiling, as the move seems to have connected, leaving a puff of smoke. She cheers, but I could tell that something was up.
I was right when I heard a whirring sound from up ahead. Just as I feared: Shadow Mewtwo set up a forcefield before Steel Wing had connected, shielding it from the impact. That guy is FAST! The forcefield dissipates, and Shadow Mewtwo unleashes what seems to be its signature move, Psystrike. However, Excalibird dodges, flying higher, and Stella shouts "Excalibird, use Sky Attack!" Excalibird flies higher, and it emanates a flowing white aura around it. In its claw, I notice a white leaf. A Power Herb! Good thinking, Stella!
Excalibird dives down, gaining more and more speed as time goes on. Shadow Mewtwo looks upward with a blank expression. Excalibird dives down at Shadow Mewtwo, but Shadow Mewtwo anticipated the attack, landing a Fire Punch straight to the chest, knocking Excalibird back, tumbling across the ground. Stella runs up to it, saying "Excalibird. Are you okay?" She turns Excalibird around, revealing that it had been knocked out cold. Ironic, considering it was hit with Fire Punch.
At that moment, something inside me snapped. My teeth start to grit. My eyebrows start furrowing, and I turn to face Shadow Mewtwo, vengeful to Stella and Excalibird. I sent out an Ultra Ball, and a Vivillon is seen, ready to fight. I shout out loud, "VIVILLON, GET AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO SHADOW MEWTWO, AND USE POISON POWDER!!!" Vivillon dashes towards Shadow Mewtwo, but is instantly stopped by a cyan aura.
I know that move. Shadow Mewtwo stopped Vivillon by using Psychic! I see it using both arms, though. So, I quickly strategize. "Vivillon. Use Poison Powder anyways." Vivillon breathes out a purple smoke, covering Shadow Mewtwo. I could see though that it shook, so I could tell it worked. As the Poison Powder clears, I see purple bubbles around Shadow Mewtwo. Shadow Mewtwo struggles, saying "Well played, kid. I see great potential in you and your friend."
It uses Psychic again, instead picking ME up. Stella shouts "AERO!" She grabs my arm with both hands, and I look back at her. I tell her, "I'll be fine." Shadow Mewtwo pulls me close to him, until we're almost nose-to-nose. He then says to me, "I've never met a kid with such determination. You really care for that girl and her Pokémon, don't you? You really show strong emotions toward her. You want to help her with any problem, don't you?" I struggle to breathe, saying "Of COURSE! I want to help EVERYONE! Especially my FRIENDS!" Shadow Mewtwo stands there, holding me in the air using his psychic abilities, full of silence.
He shuts his eyes, saying "It must be nice having friends like yours. I wish I had friends. I tried, but they all cast me aside. Ignored me. Pretended not to notice me! I turned into the monster I am today because of them." Suddenly, I understand him. He was an outcast to the rest of the people around him. Probably because he's a Legendary Pokémon. I'm reminded of my own past: surrounded by other kids who treated me as a joke. It broke my heart, crying as I ran out of town, full of hatred and sadness, as those kids kept chasing me down, shouting "Yeah, that's right! Run, Alex, run! Run back to your parents, why don't you? Oh, wait! I remember, now! YOU DON'T HAVE ONE! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh, good one, Marquint!"
I come back to the Present, still in the clutches of an upset Shadow Mewtwo. I tell him, "I guess we're two pages of the same book. I was always bullied for liking bird Pokémon. I made myself a promise to NEVER go back to that town and to not mix myself with the wrong crowd. My friends helped me when I needed them. I trust them with my life, and they can trust me." Shadow Mewtwo looks to Stella and Excalibird, then back to me, and says, "Is it possible to have friends like these?"
I reply, encouraging, "Of course! There are friends of many kinds. Kind-hearted friends, friendly rivals, slightly annoying friends, but through it all, they're friends. I know what it feels to be alone. I used to live in Eterna Forest for years eating nothing but berries and dirt. The dirt was horrible to eat. Eventually, I stumbled onto Veilstone City, where I heard about Team Sky, a team that changed from being an evil team trying to expand and conquer the skies, to a team that tries to protect the skies from any evildoers. That includes his alternate-timeline self, the leader of Team Night Sky." Shadow Mewtwo says, "This world is full of those kind of people. Those people need to be taken care of before this world gets any worse. I would advise you to avoid those kinds of people. Let me join you, and I'll be sure to make that happen."
I turn wide-eyed, then turn to Stella. Shadow Mewtwo wants me to CATCH him? But he's mostly a land creature! Then again, I do have Riolu with me, so, checkmate. I turn back to Shadow Mewtwo, and I smile, saying "Alright. If you say so." Shadow Mewtwo drops me, and says "I'm grateful to you for being my first friend." He shuts his eyes, and suddenly, I'm blinded by a bright cyan light, but I'm not gonna let that stop me. I stare into the light, seeing Shadow Mewtwo's silhouette...transform? The light dissipates, and I blink my eyes a few times, as I see the new Mewtwo standing in front of me. He looks more lime and pale white rather than black and purple.
I grin, as I prepare one of two of the only ball I have: the Master Ball! I throw it to Mewtwo, and Mewtwo is sucked into the ball in a sparkly purple light. The Master Ball lands to the ground, shakes three times, and stars appear above, signaling that I had caught Mewtwo. I pick up the Master Ball, and I tell Mewtwo through the ball, "Thank you." I turn to see Stella running up to me, shouting "Wow, Aero! You actually caught MEWTWO! I'm so PROUD of you!" She hugs me, eyes shut, with a tiny smile that, I might regret saying, was pretty cute. I could see that she was turning pink again, but she looked like she didn't care.
Later, we return to Meteo and Void, and I send Mewtwo out, since in its moveset according to the Pokedex, Mewtwo knew Recover. I say, "Alright, Mewtwo. Use Recover!" Mewtwo puts his hand on Void's arm, where the injury was. In an instant, the injury is healed, as Void gets back up, asking, "Ughhh... What happened? Huh?" He looks up at Mewtwo, and crawls back behind Meteo, cowering and saying "Hide me, Meteo." Mewtwo looks at Void and says "I apologize for the sudden attack earlier. Please forgive me." Void hesitates, but eventually caves in, saying "I forgive you. But PLEASE don't do that again."
Mewtwo says "I promise." Mewtwo then turns to notice the Band on my arm. He then says "So, you're one of the Chosen Few. I'm surprised. I didn't think the Chosen Few were so...colorful." I tell Mewtwo, jokingly, "Yeah. We gotta "band" together if we wanna stop this "crisis" Meteo speaks of." No response for seconds. Then, Stella starts giggling, then laughing. Soon, everyone starts laughing. Even Mewtwo. As we get done laughing, I pull out a map of Moquia from my pocket. I said, "According to the map, the nearest town from here is... Ocekirk Town. That's where I'll battle the first Gym Leader." I roll up the map, then point in the direction of Ocekirk Town, saying to everyone, confidently, "C'mon, you guys! Let's go!"
As we all run (and float) to Ocekirk Town, I get several more questions in my head:
Who's gonna be the Gym Leader?
Why did Stella hug me?
And...eheh...Which way is Ocekirk Town?
Void: Seriously, Aero? You really have no idea where we are?
Aero: I'm sorry, okay?
Stella: Oh, I know where we are. Right here! *points to the exact location on the map.*
Aero: Well, you've got a keen eye. Now if we follow this trail, we should end up on route.
???: Not so fast, buddy boy.
Okay...who's that guy? Wait...this guy looks...familiar...
We'll have to find out, as the journey continues!
I look out towards the forest, hearing a loud scream. I ask myself out of confusion, "Void?" I bring out Riolu, shouting "Riolu, I choose YOU!" Riolu appears, and turns to me, asking "What's the problem?" I reply with "We're out of the cave, but I can't find Void OR Stella. I heard a scream coming from the forest, so I decided on having you use your aura powers to sense if that was either of them.
Riolu pumps its fist in the air, saying "You can count on me!" I then say, "By the way, I never asked you this, but what gender are you? Boy or girl?" Riolu replies with "I'm a girl. I never really get asked that quite often. Maybe because my talking scares people away." I feel bad for Riolu. So that's why I saw her going up the snowy mountain.
I kneel down to her, saying "Hey. You didn't scare me. You just shocked me is all." Riolu looks confused, saying "I don't understand what you mean by that. I can't shock you. I don't even have anything to associate with lightning." I reply, "It's just an expression. Just means you surprised me by speaking." Riolu smiles for a second, but then she must've sensed something, because she turned back to her usual facial expression. I ask her, "What's wrong?"
No response. She DEFINITELY sensed something. She then expels blue energy from in front of her, then releases that as fire. I'm questioning whether that's a new move, but I think it might be Dragon Pulse. She burned a tree, which instantly turns into ash, revealing a person behind it. However, this person was neither Void nor Stella. This person had snow white hair, blue eyes, a blue T-shirt, a red and white hat, and what appears to be blue joggers, and red shoes.
Huh. And they call ME patriotic. But it didn't have any stars, so that's checkmate for me. I ask them, "What? Who are you?" Riolu replies with "I sensed this person following us along our way here. He appears to be stalking us and has failed miserably." The boy looks up, and sees me looking at him, and he says "Well, guess I got busted. My name's Meteo. I was following you because I'm the guardian of this cave. I noticed you walk in, and I knew you were one of the Chosen Few that were chose by Arceus to stop a terrible crisis that could bring out the destruction of the universe!"
First off, it's nice to meet a new face. And secondly, WHAT?! WHAT TERRIBLE CRISIS?! HELLO?! "Sorry, but I think I had earwax clogging my ear. Could you run that by me again? Thought I heard something about the end of our entire universe. My Torchic only found this "Type DNA Embodiment Band" on Mount Coronet in the Sinnoh region." Meteo thinks for a second, before saying "I know. If you really are one of the Chosen Few, then let's have a Pokémon battle to decide if you're worthy." I gladly accept, as I'm quite the battle-loving person.
We stare each other down from each end of the cave's cliff. Meteo shouts out his first Pokémon: "CASTFORM! COME ON OUT!" He throws a PokéBall, and a Castform pops out. It looks ready for a fight. I shout "EMBER, I CHOOSE YOU!" Torchic shows up and sparkles, also ready to throw down. Meteo commands Castform to set up the sun using Sunny Day. The clouds blocking the sun vanish in an instant, and it changes into its Fire-type form. I tell Ember to use Tail Whip, and she runs up to Castform and slaps it across the face with her tiny little tail. Castform is sent back a little, and Meteo says, smiling, "I didn't think you were able to use Tail Whip as an attack. Smart move, Aero." I reply, smug, "Well, that's not all. Tail Whip also lowered Castform's Defense. Now, Ember, use SCRATCH!" She runs and tries to claw Castform, but it flies upward, giving a smug grin as it effortlessly dodges.
Meteo then commands Castform to use Flame Wheel, and I start to panic. But then I thought of something. My worrisome frown turns to a mischievous grin, as Castform rushes to Ember, wrapped around in fire. As it draws even closer, I command Ember to suck up all the fire and then send it back. Ember starts inhaling, and the Flame Wheel gets sucked up into Ember's belly, lighting it up. I then grin and say, "Now, Ember, use Counter!" Ember then starts flaring up as it bellows out much more fire than how much it inhaled, engulfing an injured Castform within. The fire causes a massive explosion, and the smoke settles in. I can't see anything but the ground below me, and then I see something terrifying just barely. The edge of the cliff is all scratched up, leaving a giant crack behind us. Meteo looks at the crack in the rock, too, and we hear sounds, then turn to each other, looking in pure terror, as we both anticipated the next thing that happens:
The cliff we're standing on breaks off, sliding down the cave's edge, which is revealed to be on the side of a mountain. We start screaming all the way down, as we fly up a ramp, the rock immediately falling to the ground, leaving me, Meteo, and Ember flying high above the region. I decide to call in another flying beast: "SUBSONIC, HELP US OUT!!!" With that, I throw another Air Ball, and a ginormous Pidgeot appears, catching me and my friends. Castform floats next to us, already reverted back to normal.
Meteo returns Castform to its PokeBall, and I do the same for Ember. Riolu pops out of HER PokeBall, sensing Stella and Void up ahead. I confidently say, "Now we know for sure we're getting the gang back together." We land in front of them, in the middle of a jungle, Void looking all scratched up. Some wild Pokémon must've attacked him. I suddenly see Stella run up to me, crying, and saying "AERO! I JUST KNEW YOU WOULD COME FOR US!!!" She hugs me, and I tell her "Hey. Okay. Take it easy." Suddenly, what Meteo asks next sends an Icicle Crash down my spine:
"So is she your girlfriend, Aero?" I turn around, stuttering nervously, "U-U-U-Uhhhh, N-NO! I just met her y-y-yesterday!" Meteo looks at me with a mischievous smile and says "Uh-huh. SUUUUUUUUURE!" He's clearly taunting me. I start to puff up, turning red, steam flying out my ears, arms perfectly aligned with my legs. Stella puts a hand to my shoulder, saying "Don't let him get under your skin, Aero. He's just trying to annoy you."
Void starts coughing, saying shakily, "M-Mew...t-t-two...attacked m-m-me..." I'm sorry. MEWTWO?! HERE?! Stella asks, horrified, "Mewtwo? The legendary Pokemon that obliterated a laboratory effortlessly?!" We all have scared expressions, before I shake it off and ask "Did you see where Mewtwo went?" Void pointed to my left, and I tell the others, "Meteo, watch Void. Make sure he gets healed. Don't let anything bad happen to him. Stella, you come with me to track down Mewtwo. Got it? Uhh, got it?"
There's that look again. Stella's eyes are twinkling, her eyes are wide open, and she can't hear me. She also seems to be turning pink on the face. I snap my fingers, saying "Snap out of it!" She blinks, coming to, saying "Huh? Uhh, my-my bad. I was just...uhh..." before Meteo interrupts, saying smugly, whispering something in Stella's ear, but I couldn't comprehend it. Stella's eyes shrink in shock, freezing solid, before turning to Meteo, shouting "DON'T TELL HIM THAT!!!" I ask, smug, "Weren't you just telling me to not listen to him, and not let him get under your skin?"
She yelps for a second, then I say "Let's just continue with our plan. Meteo, look after Void. Me and Stella will go after Mewtwo. Let's go!" I grab Stella's hand, and as I start to run, I could just barely hear her slightly gasp, and we shoot off like a rocket flying into the sky. As we start running, I spot...Mewtwo's footprints? Doesn't Mewtwo prefer to float? I'm clearly confused, and that's when...
WHAM!!! I accidentally run into a rock, and Stella runs into me, squishing me flat, and she falls back, leaving me dazed, spinning around and around, until I land on top of Stella, stopping myself when we are nose-to-nose. Our eyes shrink, and I turn red as a tomato. So does Stella. I nervously get up quickly, saying, nervously, "Uhh...well, that was embarrassing. D-Don't you agree...Stella?"
That look again. Only her face is much more pink than previously. Suddenly, a dark voice booms at us from behind: Well, what do we have here? A couple of lovebirds?" LOVEBIRDS?! IS THIS PERSON INSANE?! That's what I thought, until I notice it's not a person. It's Mewtwo! But he looks...different. I check my Pokédex, and it says, "Shadow Mewtwo. The Genetic Pokémon. A Psychic and Dark type. Its disposition to destroy anything in its path is far greater than any other Pokémon. However, that cannot compare to its overwhelming psychic prowess." I look at Shadow Mewtwo, and gulp nervously, saying "We are in BIG trouble."
Many more questions fill my head:
Will Void be okay?
What did Shadow Mewtwo do to him?
And WHY did Shadow Mewtwo call me and Stella LOVEBIRDS?!
The answers will show up, one way or another, as the journey continues!
Nighttime. Stars. The crescent moon. And flying upwards, we have a Staraptor and three Trainers heading for the newly discovered Moquia region, tasked with researching the Pokémon and to capture the legendary bird Pokémon that has been in slumber for a thousand years. Among the three, we have:
Void - The leader of ally Team Nova, and the most mysterious one of them all,
Stella - One of the Grunts from Team Nova, and the only girl on the squad,
and Me, Aero - One of the Grunts of Team Sky, and the leader of the crew.
We're currently flying high above the ocean, when suddenly, I see land down below us. I turn to a now awake Void and Stella, and I say to them, "Land ho, guys! Moquia is now within our sights. I repeat, Moquia is within our sigh-."
YEEEOWCH!!! Lightning struck us from out of nowhere, so now we're in the midst of freefall. I shout "WE'RE GOING DOWN! REPEAT: WE ARE GOING DOWN!!" I notice fire on Big Blue's right wing, so that shock must've done a HUGE number to him. I notice Big Blue slightly faltering, so I look for any nearby ground, but can't find any. With no other options, I yell "HANG ON, EVERYONE!!! WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO CRASHLAND!!!"
We start falling faster, and we all shut our eyes and brace for impact, and I feel Stella's arms holding onto me like she's got a death grip. Suddenly, we crash into a rock, shattering it with ease. How, though?
Then it hit me: Big Blue must've used Bulk Up before we made contact. I open my eyes, only to see darkness. I must've landed in a cave. I tell myself, slightly guiltily, "Alex, ya gotta stop making crashlandings like that. Now, where am I? Void? Stella? Riolu?"
No response. Scary. I hate caves. But being alone in caves, now that's a whole different level. I say, "Return, Big Blue." Big Blue retreats into his PokéBall, so I decide to use my bracelet's electric powers. I press the electric symbol, and suddenly, lightning starts to swirl around my body, and I light up like a lightbulb. I wasn't aware I was capable of lighting up, but I'll take it. I slowly creep through the cave, until I see a row of torches lighting up a pathway. Out of curiosity, I turn off the electricity. As I walk down the lit hall, I think to myself, "I feel absolutely repulsed by this, but I must know what's beyond this."
I stop for a second, noticing carvings on the wall that, upon further inspection, look like the 18 Pokémon types! And they all seem to be surrounding another type. I think it resembles some sort of planet, but I can't be for sure. I press onwards, passing by more carvings resembling some sort of cosmic four-legged being.
I eventually stumble upon a ginormous door that's about FIVE TIMES MY SIZE!!! I try to pry it open, but these doors just will not BUDGE!!! Eventually, Riolu pops out of the Great Ball, saying, disappointed, "Allow me, Aero." Riolu then faces the door, and focuses, and finally unleashes a powerful Force Palm, blasting down the door, and turning it into a pile of rubble.
I was surprised, but what did I expect from a Fighting-type? I say "Thank you, Riolu. I might have to give you a name." I return Riolu to its Pokéball, then walk into the room that awaited me. It was a giant room, filled with carvings, and the flooring looked incredible, as if staring into a sturdy mirror.
In the center, there is a statue of the Pokémon from my nightmare. Arceus, I'm pretty sure. I see some writings carved into the bottom of the statue, but I couldn't make out what it said.
Then I remembered: those aren't letters. They're the Symbol Pokémon, Unown! And as I recall, Unown represent all the letters in the alphabet, including the question mark and the exclamation mark! So from there it was easy to decipher. The statue says "Destiny calls the three whose personalities are crystal clear. The leader gains Arceus' own created weapon: the Type DNA Embodiment Band, capable of altering the DNA of any human being to the type of the Pokémon they desire."
So THAT must be what the bracelet is! Is this some sort of prophecy or something?! Is this statue talking about ME, VOID, AND STELLA?! I walk all around the room, until I notice a pedestal, that looks like the Type DNA Embodiment Band could fit into it. I detach the DNA Band from my arm, and place it on the pedestal.
Suddenly, it starts floating and rotating, shining bright, and blinding me. I had to cover my eyes with my gloves. I could just barely see a waterdrop symbol fall onto the band. And just as suddenly as it happened, it stopped. I slowly walk towards the pedestal, reaching for the Band, when it floats back onto my arm and reattaches. I stand there, doing nothing. As I walk out of the cave, I get more questions.
What happened to the Band?
Who or what shot us out of the sky?
What happened to Void and Stella, and will I ever see them again?
The answers will be- BWAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!! *pant* As I was SAYING, before I got Hydro Pumped in the face, the answers will be revealed, as the journey continues.
Meanwhile, in Evergreen Forest...
Void here. I'm lost in some sort of forest. I can't figure out what just happened. I must get out of here. Huh? Ember?! Aero can't have gotten far. Wait. Who's there? Wait. I think I've seen this place before...but where? Stella? Aero? Guys? Huh?! SHOW YOURSELF!!! GAHHH! *gasp* AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
Back to Aero...
Void?
(I may have forgotten to add in a Pokémon battle. Will happen in the next part, though.)
Explosions. More and more explosions. I start screaming as I'm sent flying back from one of them. I land on my knee, scratched up, looking up at a Pokémon with 4 legs, what looked to be a golden, pointy ring on it, as well as a rainbow ring, looking like it's wearing some kind of golden armor. I try to use the new bracelet I had gotten to use my electric powers, until I take a good look at the bracelet, noticing that it's completely ruined. Sparks fly everywhere, and I mutter under my breath, "Nuts." I look back at the Pokémon, thinking, "NOW what am I supposed to do?" I grow more afraid as I see the Pokémon charging up what appears to be a giant laser beam. The beam flies straight at me as I brace for impact, until I notice someone jump in front of me, tanking the attack, but I couldn't see who it is, for they're wearing a cloak. As they get sent flying near me, the cloak flies off, and I immediately recognized the person. White T-shirt with a star, dark blue shorts, blue eyes, pink hair, and red shoes, that's my new friend Stella. She, like myself, was bruised at every limb, but nothing serious. Void was there too, but he was WAY more battered up than both me AND Stella combined. But it wasn't too serious, just a bunch of scratches and bruises. We all looked pretty worn out. I try to go to Ember, but I notice then that I didn't have any PokéBalls with me. Neither did Stella OR Void! I notice a familiar voice behind me shout, "We CAN'T give up!" I turned around but didn't expect what I saw: a Lucario. But then I remembered something: Lucario is the evolved form of RIOLU! Of course! I try to tell Lucario to use Aura Sphere, but suddenly, the ground below me crumbles, and I knew I was in trouble. I start screaming as I fall towards the infinite abyss, looking up to see Stella look down at me in fear, shouting "AERO! IF THIS IS HOW IT ENDS, JUST KNOW THAT I-" before I see her and Void get obliterated by another laser beam, just barely seeing their silhouettes disintegrate in the light. I suddenly hear voices telling me "Wake up. Wake up. Wake up," and I shout out of losing my friends "NOOOO!!!" Suddenly, I'm back in my room at base. A nightmare, perhaps? I check to make sure. PokéBalls, check. No bruises or scratches, check. Bracelet, check. Sanity, DOUBLE check. I still hear the words "Wake up" though, so maybe I need to triple check on my sanity. That's when I fall out of bed, yelping. I get up, rubbing my head, saying "That's gonna leave a mark. Huh?" I turn to see Riolu standing in front of me, and I scream so loudly I'm pretty sure Rayquaza could hear from the Ozone Layer. Riolu says "Whoa, okay. Take it easy, Aero. Sorry for scaring you." I start hyperventilating from the sudden appearance, and eventually say "It's- It's okay. Now that we got THAT settled, when and how did you get here?" Riolu replies, "Well, it was fairly easy, with climbing the walls and such. Got here around 2 in the morning." I say "Yeesh. Do you ever sleep?" Riolu replies "Not really. Pokémon like me need to keep an eye on things at all times. Even in the middle of the night." Suddenly, I hear the door open, and I see one of the admins, Zephyr, walk in, with his friend Braviary next to him. He says, "Hey, uh, Aero, boss wants to see you in his office. Like, right now." Mikey? Wants to see me? That really sent icicles down my spine, and I hate ice. I say, nervously, "Uh, yeah, man. I'll be right over. Just gimme a minute." Zephyr replies with "Just don't be too long. And make sure to put that Riolu back in the ball." He shuts the door, and Riolu immediately asks "What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" I reply, "Yep. Basically, we were fighting this random Pokémon. Looked kinda white, with a gold ring around it, followed by a-" before Riolu interrupted, saying "Wait, you mean to say that we were fighting ARCEUS?! THE ARCEUS?!" I reply with, "Yeah, but it looked...different. It had a rainbow ring around it too. And looked like it was wearing a gold suit of armor. And from the looks of it, it seemed...mad. I dunno WHY, just that we were struggling against it. You were a Lucario in that nightmare, and Stella and Void were there too. I fell into what appeared to be the move Fissure, and Stella was trying to tell me something before you, her, and Void all got disintegrated by a laser beam. You and Arceus were the only Pokémon there, and my bracelet was all busted up, so it was for sure a nightmare. Question is, was it really a nigthmare, or...a vision?" I could tell Riolu was confused, and that's when I remembered that Mikey needed me to come over to his office. I tell Riolu, "We'll have to think about this for a while. I'll leave the PokéBall over here, so you can go in and out when someone shows up. Got it?" Riolu replies with, "Alright. I'll get in when someone does approach, considering your team's hatred for land and sea Pokémon, and I happen to be a land creature. Good luck with your leader." I give Riolu a fist bump, saying "I'll need it." With that, I exit my room, walking down the long green hallway, passing by other Team Sky Grunts, looking excited, scared, and confused. That got me nervous to the core. I continue walking until I see a door with a wing at the very end, and as I walk in, I see Mikey sitting in his chair, looking back behind his desk as if staring at the window behind him. I gulp in fear of what might happen. Is he going to fire me? Is he going to interrogate me about the electricity? Who knows? He turns around, greeting me like a villain would his captive, talking in a very hollow voice, "Hello, Aero. You're probably wondering why I requested for you to be here." I feel sweat dripping off my chin, as I start quivering in my custom Team Sky sneakers. I reply very shakily, "U-U-Uh-huh." He says, very shady, "Have a seat." As I walk towards the chairs in front of me, I could hardly imagine what he might do to me. Blast me with a Draco Meteor from Manifest the Salamence? Call in Air Bud the Mightyena on me? Mikey asks "Did you fire off that electric attack yesterday?" I reply, shouting in guilt, "I didn't MEAN to! I just found this bracelet, and it somehow fired off an electric explosion. I think there's more to it than meets the eye." Mikey doesn't say anything. Uh oh. I'm a goner. What'll it be? Guillotine? Sheer Cold? Fissure? Meer scratches to what future surely waited on my doorstep. I brace for what happens next, but I braced for the opposite of what I expected. Mikey seemed...ecstatic. He said "AMAZING!!! If that bracelet gave you electric powers, it could also give you the power required to TAKE TO THE SKY!!! My research team must study this bracelet at ONCE!!! I will require you to figure out the powers behind this magnificent bracelet throughout your journey with Void and Stella. You three will be travelling to a recently discovered region: the Moquia Region! I recently heard that there was once a mysterious bird Pokémon that once turned one of the many towns into a giant crater thousands of years ago. Void and Stella are already waiting for you at the airport in Veilstone City. You should be able to get from there to Moquia fairly quickly." I then remind him "Well, you know, I've got some flying Pokémon that can get me there. I can fly us three to this "Moquia" in a matter of minutes, so I've got it covered." Mikey says "Oh. Forgot about that. Well then, I expect great things from you, Aero. Take care." I reply, smug, "I make no promises." I exit the building with Riolu, then toss a green PokéBall with a wing on it, the Air Ball, and a Staraptor appears, ready to fly, and then sparkles. I hop on, saying "Alright, Big Blue. Let's get Void and Stella, then head to Moquia." Big Blue nods, then runs towards the edge of the mountain, and jumps. We were used to it, so I knew what was coming next: Big Blue dives down the mountain, leaving me a little scared. I say, my voice raising, "AAAAAAAH!!! UP!!! UP!!! UP!!! PULL UP, BIG BLUE!!!" In an instant, Big Blue spreads his wings and we start flying up, high above Veilstone. I spot Void and Stella at the front gate to the airport, so I said "Alright, Big Blue. Let's grab Void and Stella." We then dive down to them, diving faster and faster. Stella turns our way, and turns Void around so he can see. I spread my arms, catching one of them in each arm. I can tell Void was terrified, as his eyes look small. Looks like his soul just left his body. He shakes himself back, and I say to him "Welcome to Reality Airlines. The fastest airline in the world." I hear giggling, so I turn to Stella, who is causing that giggling. Void starts laughing too, and then they get behind me. I suddenly feel something on my shoulder, so I turn back, and I see Stella asleep, resting her head on my shoulder. I was shocked for a moment, then started giggling quietly. As the sun sets on the horizon, multiple questions fill my mind. What adventures will await in Moquia? What is this bracelet capable of? And why do I feel comfortable with Stella on my shoulder? We'll just have to find out, as the journey continues!
My name is Alex, or as I prefer to go by my Team Sky name, Aero. I decided to walk around the base, enjoying the lovely sunny sky, watching more birds fly by, and smelling the fresh air, when suddenly, something jump scared me from behind, and that's where I accidentally slid down Mount Coronet. I was screaming all the way down, but nobody, (surprisingly) heard me. I landed on the rocky ground of the mountain, thinking to myself, while rubbing my back, "Boy. I'm gonna feel THAT in the morning." I tried calling out to the grunts outside the base at the summit, but they didn't hear a thing. At this time, I didn't have any Pokémon that could even lift me back up to the base, since they had all been lost when sliding down the mountain. I started to panic, thinking, "I don't have my Pokémon with me! What am I gonna do?!" That's when I heard a sound coming from within the mountain. It didn't sound like Pokémon, but I could hardly make out what they were saying. I decided to overhear what they were saying, so I pressed my head to the rocky wall. All I could hear was someone shouting "COME ON, YA SLOWPOKES!!! THIS UNIVERSE WON'T CONNECT ITSELF, YA KNOW!!!" I don't know what he meant by the universe connecting itself, but I decided to check it out. That's when I heard something behind me. I quickly turned around, startled, saying "Wh-wh-WHO'S THERE?!" Nobody. I quickly looked down, and, to my disappointment, it was only a random Riolu. I have no idea how or why it got up the mountain, the sickly land creature. But suddenly, I thought of something: Riolu is a Fighting-type. If it could blast these rocks down, I could see who is making the racket, and figure out what they're up to. Suddenly, I heard someone, a boy, I think, asking "Do you think our leader will let us have a break soon?" Another one, a girl, said "Knowing Mr. Void, probably not." I thought to myself "So, their leader is this Mr. Void, huh? The void must mean space, and where is space? The sky, of course." I said, "Riolu, you know a fighting move, right?" My excitement soon turned to chagrin as Riolu shook its head, disappointed. I can't believe I have to do this to find out who this "Mr. Void" character is, but I have no choice: I must train this Riolu so it can learn a Fighting-type move. And what is the best way to train it? SHOCKER: by catching it. Like I said, I basically have no other choice. I decided to catch it in a Great Ball, since it matches the colors of what it'll soon become. I immediately brought it out, and we began training like crazy. Eventually, after about 2 hours, Riolu was able to smash rocks with ease, so I guess it learned Rock Smash. I said, ecstatic, "Alright, Riolu! Now let's find out who those guys are. Use Rock Smash!" Riolu listened, smashing the rock wall apart. I couldn't see anything. Only a giant dust cloud. Somehow, though, Riolu sent what appeared to be a shockwave throughout the entire cave, wiping out the dust away. I immediately recognized that move: Vacuum Wave. I guess Riolu also learned that move whilst training. One of the guys said "Hey, kid! Just who do you think you are?!" Another asked "Yeah, what's the big idea? You tryin' to cave us all in?" I said, nervous, "Eh, sorry guys. I just overheard you talking about the universe connecting itself, and I decided to check out what was going on. My name is Aero, a Grunt working for Team Sky, Hoenn's best team. And who might you be?" The girl said "1. I'm Stella, one of the many Grunts working for Team Nova, and 2. If you're from Team Sky, how come you have a Riolu with you?" I said, "I lost all my other Pokémon when I slid down the mountain. Found this guy when I was listening in on you guys. Right?" Riolu put its fist in the air, saying "Yes, you did!" I was startled for a second. Did Riolu just SPEAK?!?! I stood there, stiff as a statue, looking at Riolu as if I had seen a ghost. Riolu, confused, asks "Uhh, what's wrong?" I was just about to point out it can talk, but a voice in the distance calls, "A talking Riolu, huh? You don't see that every day." I said "Who are you?" All I can see is a silhouette in the remaining dust. The silhouette walks out to reveal a man with purple hair, looking like spikes, a purple T-shirt with an N on it with a ring around it, khaki shorts, long socks, green eyes, and a SICK looking cape, and with some sick kicks, too. He had what appeared to be rings with orbs surrounding him, and a belt with six PokeBalls on it. He says, giving a cool smirk, "I am-" before I say "Oh, you look AWESOME! I take it that you're Mr. Void?" Mr. Void says, calmly, "Please, just call me Void." I say "Okay, Void. I'm Aero, a Grunt of Team Sky. And might I ask, what are you guys doing here?" Void says "Oh, forgive me for not explaining. We are Team Nova. Here, our goal is to capture and utilize the power of the Alpha Pokémon, Arceus, in order to expand the reaches of the universe, to the point of connecting it with other universes, then conquer them. Now, may I ask what this Team Sky's goal is? I reply, "Our goal at Team Sky is to conquer and protect the sky with the power of the Sky High Pokémon, Rayquaza. We used to be an evil team, but after our leader, Mikey, met an evil future version of himself, the leader of Team Night Sky, and defeated him on multiple occasions, he was able to capture him and trap him within the PC." Void asks me "How did he defeat him?" I said "Well, first he trapped him in our timeline after shutting down the time machine in Paldea's Great Crater, then he beat him again after capturing the hidden Legendary Pokémon, Terapagos, and, after knowing Terapagos' full power, was able to send Night Sky back through time, but he returned as this Pokémon called Necrozma. Luckily, Mikey was able to defeat and catch him, and stuck him in the PC box." Void looked impressed, saying, "Impressive. I'd like to meet this leader soon." I reply "Well, unless you have, like, a Psychic type Pokemon that knows Psychic, we can't get back to the base." Void replies, calmly, "Actually, I do have one. Meowstic, come on out!" He throws a Great Ball, and a blue Meowstic shows up. I notice Riolu looks ready to fight, so I ask "What's wrong, Riolu?" Riolu replies with, whispering, "How can we trust this guy? We only just met him." I reply with "Good point, but he seems like a nice guy. I'm sure we can trust him." I stand up, saying "Void, I accept your help. And I might need your help as well in finding the rest of my Pokémon team." Void says "Sure thing. I always aim to help those who need it. Meowstic, use Psychic." Meowstic's eyes seem to glow, and all of a sudden, we start floating. All of us start flying out of the cave, and soon, we ended up back on the top of Mount Coronet. Me, Riolu, Void, and Stella landed on the ground, but Meowstic continued floating. At first, I was confused as to why. Then I noticed it was bringing all the PokéBalls I had lost along the mountain. One of them was put into my hands, and when it opened, my partner Pokémon, a yellow Torchic, showed up. She chittered happily, and then sparkled for a second. I started giggling after seeing Torchic, who I call Ember, then turn to see a shocked Void and Stella staring at me. I ask them "What's wrong?" Void starts to stutter "Sh-Sh-Shiny T-T-Torchic..," and then falls over, dazed. Me, Stella, Riolu, and Ember loom over him, curious. He gets up, so we all back away. He shakes himself back, and I say "What? You've never seen a yellow Torchic before? Ember here is one of a kind." Void stares for a second, then immediately dazes out again. I start giggling, saying "This guy is awesome, isn't he, Stella? Uhhh, Stella?" I noticed that Stella isn't looking at Void, but me. I try waving in front of her, but she doesn't seem fazed. I try snapping my fingers, saying "Hello? Sky to Stella. Are you there?" She blinks a few times, then says "Huh? Oh, uhh, what's going on?" I try to ask her why she was staring at me, but suddenly, Ember got my attention. She was urging me over. I ask her "What's wrong, Ember?" She hops away, so I follow suit. She stops in front of some sort of bracelet, then starts jumping up and down, so I know this is where she wanted to bring me. I grab the bracelet, and it starts to glow brightly. Me, Void, and Stella all shield ourselves from the blinding light as I feel the bracelet slip out of my hand and latch onto my arm. The light slowly dies down, so we lift our heads up, and the light appears to be swirling into the bracelet. I turn around, saying, "Well, that just happened. But CHECK it OUT!" But before I knew what was going on, lightning started surrounding my body, then transfers to Void and Stella, who get shocked, screaming. I am somehow immune, though, as I feel no pain. I slap the bracelet, which appears to have no effect. I then notice the Electric-type symbol on the bracelet, so I finally figure it all out: this bracelet holds the power of an Electric-type Pokémon. I notice a red X under it, so I tap the X, and that somehow causes the electric attack to stop. We are all shocked, figuratively, and literally. We hear Mikey bursting through the door, running around, asking "WAS THAT THE SOUND OF AN ELECTRIC ATTACK I HEARD? ON MY MOUNTAIN?! I walk over and say "Uh, I think it might've been." I start coughing, as my face is covered in soot. Mikey says, "Did the lightning get you?" I say "Yeah. Guess that wasn't much of a 'SHOCKER!' HAHAHAHA!" Mikey walks past me, and asks "And who are these people?" I reply with "Oh, those are Void and Stella. They helped me get back up the mountain and find my Pokémon after we fell down the mountain. They're really kind. Void says "So this is the legendary leader of Team Sky. Name's Void, leader of Team Nova, an aspiring team hoping to conquer and expand the universe to the point of connection to other universes." They shake hands, and Mikey says "Nice to finally meet you. And who's the little lady?" Stella is offended, remarking "I am NOT just a little lady. And for YOUR information, my name is Stella.
