This is a long shot but any idea of helping me to get in the right track?

I am a PhD graduate from a good enough school. I am faced with the question of designing my career track to enter the HLA lab. I am interested in the technologist position because it will help boost my profile for the HLA fellowship. Is it true to think in this way? Alternatively, I can do postdocs. I was wondering if it is possible to do a postdoc in other fields and establish that competitive profile in applying for the HLA fellowship? I am also wondering if it is possible to apply in this coming cycle. Thank you!

Q&A

How do you address Q&A in the seminar? I have upcoming seminars for an audience outside the institute. Before, I had experience in interacting with my department, whose questions I still remember that directly challenged me. I have a fellowship interview, in which the professors ask so many questions to drill. What is a good coping strategy to cope with the upcoming Q&A with the industry audience and the outside of the field audience? Thank you!

What job options do I have?

I am a fresh PhD with many years of experience in infectious diseases and majorr in immunology. I want to contribute to healthcare. I am exploring both academic postdocs and clinical fellowship programs. For clinical fellowships, is there a difference between LGG and HLA fellowship applications, and in the job market for these two types? I can see HLA is a good fit, but I only have good connections in LGG. Also, CPEP sounds relevant, but the program director replied that it didn't sound fit. So is there anyone comparing them all?

Postdoc or HLA I NEED advice

Hi, I am a PhD graduate soon. I am exploring my potential to apply to the HLA fellowship versus a postdoc job. It sounds like the fellowship is very competitive. I don't have information on the HLA fellowship, but does have guidance on the LGG fellowship. It sounds like the important takeaway is that many years of direct relevant experience before applying. I am interviewing with the HLA lab for a postdoc, but also for other basic science research postdocs. I just learnt this career path a week ago. Could you share a bit of observation on the backgrounds of successful HLA fellows? I want to learn if it is feasible for me to get a fellowship and end up as a faculty member and director. My PhD publication is not the top tier, but it is ok. I have searched some Reddit posts and haven't read all of them yet. I wondered if a technologist role would help me to get a fellowship in the near future. It would also be helpful. Thank you.

Judgement is it a forgivable error?

I felt shocked and resistant when professors were not in the role. I started to accept. Professors don't help is a norm in American culture?

Seminar/Job Talk Title Taste

I am a fresh PhD and want to learn from the title skills for upcoming seminars. For a job talk seminar title, does it need to be tailored to the host lab's research direction, or can it just reflect my own work? And is there a way to make it engaging without being overly broad or too specific? The context is that the field that I am entering is very niche. It will be a bit pivoting. What would be a good title for a seminar in general?

Postdoc Job Talk Title

For a job talk seminar title, does it need to be tailored to the host lab's research direction, or can it just reflect my own work? And is there a way to make it engaging without being overly broad or too specific? The context is that the field that I am entering is very niche and specific, different from my former work. The field is biomedicine/immunology/microbiology. My PhD work is very technical, and my pivoting lab is very microbiological. Thank you!
