The Feathered Skull Grave west of Fort Riggs (revisit)

This topic has probably been discussed many times over the years since the game's release, but I'm interested on hearing your best theories on the meaning of this grave site.

It is located west of Fort Riggs Holding Camp in Big Valley, WE, up on a small bluff. There's nothing to loot and like most grave sites, when defiled, causes the weather to change.
The grave site appears to be marked with a human skull, some kind of animal horns, and two feathered wings that look like they came from a raptor like an eagle or an owl.

While the Valentine Curse was something that was originally planned to be extended, with hints in the game files, the massacre skin art asset, missing animations that suggest that shopkeepers in Valentine possessed purloined native artifacts that could be examined, and that Valentine is cursed because it was built on a mass grave of Native American massacre victims. As it is, that's not in the game, but parts remain of it, such as NPC townsfolk and shopkeeper talk in Valentine, the friendly Stranger Camper in Cumberland Forest that tells the story of the unseen skin depicting the massacre, and the camp conversation where Karen tells Mary-Beth about what she was told by a woman in town.

My theory as to what this grave represents is the "last remaining Indian" reference by Karen in her story, and she also "says "eagle or an owl and a grave site." The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the grave is located in a different state, West Elizabeth significantly far from Valentine.

Dead Man's Camp south of Hawks Eye Cabin

So, a small mystery that I have always thought there may be more to discover is the dead man's camp that may appear south of Hawks Eye Cabin (where Arthur meets Francis Sinclair) towards Lake Owanjila. It becomes noticeable when you see the corpse marker on the game map when in the area. The camp doesn't always appear, but it seems to reoccur occasionally even after it has been investigated and pillaged.

The main distinctive feature is the corpse, which has a significant hole in the center of its gut.

The tent is collapsed and has slashes, like the bloodstained tent on the north side of Mount Shann where the Special Miracle Tonic recipe is found, however, it has no blood stains or trails of blood.
It appears to be a fishing camp; there is a string of dead fish hung up on a line. There are camp supplies to loot, but nothing too valuable.

The body, in my pic is burnt, but I think this is a result of a glitch or changed game physics; it seems to catch fire when Arthur approaches because it is too close to the campfire. Sometimes, it does not burn, and you can find a Vulture eating on it.

It seems to be too elaborate of a scene just to be just a non-sequitur.

Any thoughts or ideas on what this camp is about?

My top unexplained mysteries in RDRII

I am a day 1 player, and I reckon I have played RDRII story mode most every day since console release in 2018.  For me, these are my top mysteries that I haven't seen sufficiently explained:

  1. The meaning of the rock drawing on the north side of the Mount Shann summit.
  2. The meaning of the color time marks around the north side of the Mount Shann Sundial, which is the only place the gnomon casts a shadow when the sun is up.
  3. The meaning of the color marks on the medicine wheel at the Native Burial point of interest.  The center of the medicine wheel is where the Stone Hatchet, unlocked in GTA Online, is found.
  4. The meaning of Gertrude Braithwaite's numbers.
  5. What really happens to Arthur when he drinks out of a Witches' Cauldron. It only happens once in a play through, and as it is, seems like a non-sequitur that the developers put some effort into.

These are all things that I think likely to have something more interesting behind them than what they appear to be, but I'm very skeptical about many of the explanations I've seen. I apply the "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard.

Were free roam bank robberies once intended in the game?

So, many players have lamented the fact that there are no free roam bank robberies in RDRII.
The banks in Saint Denis and Valentine are robbed as a matter of course in the story mission progression, and the Bank of Rhodes may be robbed in a bonus companion activity in Ch IV for the ultimate/special editions.

However, I noticed that the Bank of Rhodes has a posted open hours sign that says 6AM-12PM daily. If your protagonist leaves the bank lobby in peace, the Bank Teller NPC will say something like "your money is safe with us" as he leaves. It seems like the banks were meant to be working places to do business, like the stores, the way they were set up.

The amount of detail spent on the interiors of the bank seems like a lot, especially since most of it can't be accessed except in the previously mentioned mission activity.

So, my question to data miners is if there is any evidence that banks were once intended to be robbed in free roam, unused dialogue or other assets, etc. It would be interesting if they had at one time, planned for the protagonist to store money and/or valuables in a bank.

I get it that they decided to get rid of it to keep players from farming free roam bank robberies for money, as they made train robberies require a lot of player skill to do at a profit, if paying off the bounty is a consideration.

Who is Jenny at Smithfield Saloon?

I am a player that likes game dialogue; I like finding and hearing different/rare dialogue from the game.

This is something I recently recorded from Smithfields Saloon in Valentine, where Cliff the Bartender talks about "Jenny", apparently a sex worker that works there. It was important enough in the game for the game to subtitle it, while most of his conversations are not subtitled, unless related to another chance encounter that happens in front. I've heard him talk about Jenny before, but in unsubtitled dialogue. In this conversation, Arthur automatically reacts to what he says.

So, I've never seen a Jenny in Smithfields, so I am wondering if she was part of cut content. Although I've heard a few other unsubtitled conversations from Cliff, I am wondering if any of you modders/asset explorers with trainers that look at assets in the game have heard other audio referring to her, or even a ped model of what she looks like?

The appreciation of value of certain unique items in the game

So, this is not really a proper mystery, but since there are many modders here that might be able to figure this game mechanic out from using a trainer on PC; I myself, am a console-only player.

So, I noticed many years ago, that during the stranger mission in which Arthur first meets Charles Chateney in Saint Denis, he gives him a unique item, a drawing. This drawing can be sold at the fence. The longer that Arthur hangs onto it, the value that he receives for selling it increases, which I assume requires many game days passing. This has been known and discussed before in some of the reddit Red Dead Redemption forums.

However, I just recently noticed a second item with this property. When the 15th out of 30 Dinosaur Bone Locations is mailed to Deborah MacGuiness, she mails back a unique item, a "Skull Statue". It can never be seen; it only exists as an icon in the satchel. likely due to the developers never getting around to implementing an "examine" function for some unique items which would have been handy.

So, the Skull Statue has no known purpose, other than it can be sold at the fence or donated to the donation box at camp. Since I've been keeping my nerdy spreadsheet on my current play through for valuables, I had originally had this item appraised at $50 when he first got it, I'm fairly certain of that value but I could have misrecorded it. It came from interacting with the donation box at camp when he first received it.

However, when I went to fence it to Seamus a couple of game months later, it increased in value to $75.

So, my questions are: How many unique items appreciate in value as game time passes? Are there maximum values after a given time period?

I realize that this is a very subtle game mechanic, but I would really like to know how exactly it works.

Regarding the placement of the Spider Dreamcatchers and the web in the center

So, while the spider dreamcatchers are often shown with the overlayed graphic of the spider symbol on the NW 3-4am dreamcatcher pole to demonstrate how they are connected, it seems little convoluted to infer the location of the real spider web near the Scarlett Horse Shop from just this overlayed graphic.

So, if any of you that are good at making graphics on the game maps, can you determine if lines drawn from the exact locations all intersect at that Scarlett Horse Shop web? It seems that they should, a line drawn between a pair of spider dreamcatchers that appear at the same game hour should all intersect there.

I don't think this really means anything by itself, but simply using the spider graphic overlay has always bothered me as "proof".
