OK, so I am someone new to the genre who is trying to expand my horizons. I really love the classics, Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, etc…but I’d like to read some modern romance (that is, written today). Who would you recommend who’s writing currently, or in the last 30 years or whatever, who’s the most literary like that? I understand, Austen is literally one of the best writers in the English language (if not the best), so the answer is “no-one” but is there anyone writing these sorts of books today? Sorry this question is very basic, I’m pretty new…
