If the MCU is set on young X-Men, just cast a kid for Kitty and let us watch her grow up like she has in comics
Like, at this point just go the whole way. Even if Jean is likely gonna be the POV character, no reason to exclude a younger Kitty.
She's one of the few character in comics who organically grew up, so let her do that. Give things a bit of levity at the start by being the lil' sidekick she was, then grows into her 2000s+ self.
