Am I cooked? Grade 12 & Early Admissions💀
Hey everyone,
Just looking to get some perspective because I’ve been seeing a lot of similar posts lately and it’s lowkey getting to my head. I’m planning on applying for early admissions to Engineering at UofC and UofA in the fall, but I’m incredibly stressed that I'll get rejected, and then my actual Grade 12 course load will just tank my average even more.
Here are my Grade 11 marks/averages so far:
• Math 20-1: 96% (tentative)
• ELA 20-1: 93%
• Chemistry 20: 89%
• Physics 20: 87%
• Computer Science 20: 91%
Average: 91.2%
Since it's my last year, I really wanted to push myself as hard as possible, but now I'm worried I'm being overly ambitious, which, honestly, is a predicament I tend to find myself in quite often.
Here is what my Grade 12 schedule is looking like:
• Math 30-1 / 31 AP
• Chemistry 30 AP
• Chemistry 35
• Physics 30
• Computer Science 30
• ELA 30-1
• Social Studies 30-2
My main worry is that if I don't get in through early admissions based on my Grade 11 marks, trying to maintain a competitive average with this Grade 12 workload is going to be brutal.
Be honest, am I overthinking this or am I cooked? Do I actually have a solid shot at early admission and is this schedule going to ruin me if it comes down to regular admissions?
Appreciate any advice or reality checks. Thanks!
