So apparently Mike Quigley is announcing his mayoral run Saturday at the Uptown Theater.
Does anyone know the back story. There have to be major safety concerns.

Remember Peapod? One of the first grocery delivery services.
When it started in Chicago (late-80s or early 90s) I signed up and got a massive book listing product codes for grocery items. I would fill out a paper order form of codes, then fax it to a Peapod office. Someone would go to Jewel, then bring to me. They grew along with the technology and eventually had their own warehouses and fleets of green trucks.
But they weren't unique anymore, so left Chicago. And, IMHO, have never been adequately replaced.
I'm increasingly frustrated by poor deliveries. I don't mind paying someone to shop and will grit my teeth and deal with it (really, the store was completely out of Coke?). I'm happy to pay (and tip well) someone to carry heavy stuff to my door.
But increasingly drivers barely clear the curb before dumping stuff.
Does anyone know of any grocery stores that still do their own delivery? With delivery people who work for the store?
