I'd love to join a local group. I practise solitary but would love to share experiences with others and learn.

I'm really hoping to get out soon and need a new sleeping mat. I need comfort more than anything and not too heavy for the backpack. Any recomendations please.

I'd so love to hike and camp but my lot often aren't available or willing to come with me. I'd go alone quite happily but I'm scared of the dark and don't think I could ever stay by myself overnight. Maybe I watch too many scary camping in the woods videos on YouTube. How safe do you all feel when camping alone in the hills/moors/mountains, male, female or other? What are you scared of if anything?
