Pacu
I’m a RN currently working in a level 3 Nicu. I m trying to get into the Pacu for better hours. Twice, I applied for a position. Once in the OR and once for Pacu. I have significant OR and Pacu experience, but getting rejected almost immediately.
I’m not sure if it was resume and not getting pass the ATS. So, I revamped my resume. I can’t apply on the internal site because it said that I was rejected for the job.
Should I reach out to the HR and Nursing Manager of the surgical floor with my application? Thoughts?
I’m trying to get into the Pacu.
I am currently at a small hospital of a large children’s hospital. I am in the Nicu. They are expanding the OR and two jobs have come up. I’m getting rejected almost immediately. I have been a peds ICU nurse for a while and I have tons of Pacu and operative experience.
I have reformatted my resume because I’m not sure if it was rejected from the ATS or something else. A coworker of mine also reached out to her best friend who works in the Pacu and told her to look out for my application and that I would be a great fit. But I am not even getting an interview.
I am wondering what I am doing wrong. Should I reach out to the HR person and the manager. Any tips?
Pacu position
I am a pediatric nurse with over 20 years experience. I was an ecmo specialist for over 15 years and was involved in many surgical procedures. I currently work in a NICU.
I am trying to transfer to the Pacu at my current job and I twice I got passed over by HR. I never had an interview. I believe AI screens the applications. Is there any tips on how to get in? The requirements are just an RN with past previous pediatric experience which I have.
I’m a Nicu nurse and charge occasionally. I had a patient who I was mostly their primary nurse. He was a 28 wk and in our unit for months. He was recently discharged. While in our unit, the mom asked me to ask the neonatologist to write a letter about the baby being premature and that he was in the Nicu. The parents were trying to break their new lease due to leaking pipes and stuff. The Dr wrote the letter and I gave it to her.
After the baby left, mom called the unit. I was charge and was directed to her. Mom stated that the apartment complex just needed verification that the letter was authentic. The social worker was out for the week and the neonatologist wasn’t back on service for a couple of weeks. I did forward it to the social worker on call, but mom never heard from her.
Mom reached back out to me two days later and said that anyone could sign it. So, I signed it and said that the letter was authentic.
My manager just called asking me about it. Risk and legal were involved and she said that I shouldn’t have signed it and I see now why. I was just trying to be helpful and can verify the baby was in the hospital.
I’m so mad at myself and now I’m worried about my job. I’m a good nurse and never in trouble. My manager said she understands where I was coming from, but obviously will talk with risk. I’m so worried.
