Laptop goes black the moment it's plugged out — battery diagnostics show error 601
Hi everyone,
I am facing an issue with my HP Victus laptop. It shows the battery at 100%, but the moment I unplug the charger, the laptop instantly turns blank and shuts off. This happens everywhere I tested it on the normal Windows screen and even inside BIOS.
I also ran HP Diagnostics, and it showed a battery warning/error, including 601. In BIOS, the battery charge state was showing not available. I noticed a mismatch as well: software sometimes shows around 80% battery health, but in reality the laptop cannot run on battery power at all.
I also tried removing and reconnecting the battery, but that did not fix the issue.
At this point, I am not sure whether this is a battery failure, charging circuit issue, or something else. If the battery needs replacement, the battery part on the HP website is showing unorderable, so I am also looking for advice on what to do next or where I should check for a replacement(i've attached battery image).
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you.
