It’s 100 plus degrees daily right now in Texas, USA. Will daily soaks cause issues? I just want to be overly cautious and make sure he’s hydrated.
reddit.comWill pyramiding flatten out as he grows?
Our family has had this guy (Sulcata) for a couple of months now, and rescued him for a local who clearly did not care for him the way he needed. No housing, moisture, and poor diet.
Since getting him, he’s like a different Tortoises. So happy, interactive, loves his Tortle hut, has full run of the backyard, eats mainly orchard hay cut with collard and country greens (or else he won’t want the hay), gets multiple weekly warm water soak/scrubs, and gets his shell brushed.
My concern is with the pyramiding he already has. He’s found his forever home with us, and won’t be going anywhere for about 150 years. That said, does anyone have any experience or knowledge with how early pyramiding like this looks once they mature, assuming all issues causing pyramiding have been addressed?
We think he’s around 7, and is confirmed male.
Thank you!
