Map Hard F’d Me

Map Hard F’d Me

I was at the city I had conquered at the end of round 2 starting day phase of round 3. At the time I only had the white city tile revealed, the ones on either side were blank. I decided to defeat the dragon there and go back to the city to do one last recruit for the homies, Altem Mages. I thought I was good to take a turn or two to get myself situated for a FULL round to take the lvl 8 white city. The dummy player had other plays and ran out with a bad luck draw lol. Oops.

I can’t get to the city because of the lake, so I go west of the city I was in to the magical place and explored… basically blocked. I didn’t want to use 15 move to just be able to explore and hope I was good that way, so I had to go back the opposite direction just to get another lake directly in front of me and have to go around. At that point it’s night phase and and the forests now cost 5 each to get through….. so I had to come up with a whopping 17 move at the beginning of round 3 night phase AND take on 3 white and 1 grey enemy. I really thought I was gonna pull it off… but dummy player went out of cards and this is what I was left with….. one white enemy left alive at the end. This was a 2.5 hour play for me (only 3rd time playing).

Overall I enjoy the game and I’ll keep trying, but I need to find what strategies work better!

EDIT:***
I took some time to really look at it and I realized what happened. So the city tile that was taken was my first brown tile, the second brown tile was the other city with the draconum on it. However I explored incorrectly. I shouldn't have explored further forward because doing so meant that the new tile didn't touch two of the current tiles. It was only touching the other city tile. If I would have explored correctly then the second city tile should have gone where the tile with the double rampaging orc is. MEANING I COULD HAVE EASILY GOTTEN TO THE SECOND CITY BY GOING THROUGH JUST ONE MORE FOREST. Wow.... I'm so upset at myself now lol. I was at the Magical Glade when I explored.
