Who else is going tonight to see it on the big screen?

I saw the movie in theaters when it originally came out. I’ve always preferred the book, but the movie has a special place too. I was very excited to see that they’re showing it in theaters tonight and I grabbed my tickets right away. Really excited to see it in the theater after all these years.

Victor

When you see or hear the name do you automatically think of the name as Hispanic? If you meet Victor and he doesn’t have an accent and looks more Northern European, do you think he might have some Spanish or Latin ancestry? Just curious about the impression the name gives.

Duolingo DOES teach grammar

I keep seeing posts from people talking about how Duolingo doesn’t teach grammar or that they’re confused because new verb forms are introduced without explanation.

That’s just not true. At the beginning of each section is a little notepad. If you click on the notepad, it explains the grammar. It doesn’t repeat the grammar lessons in detail for every section, so take notes and you can always refer back to them if you get confused.

They Need The Articles In The Vocabulary Lists

Many languages are gendered and the most effective way to remember the gender of a noun is to memorize it with the article. I’ve noticed that in the practice section the nouns in the word list do not have the articles with them. This is a BIG miss for Duolingo and should be updated ASAP. I sent feedback in the app, but maybe if they see this feedback more frequently they’ll make the update.
