Hi everyone,
I have a MK8 GTI DSG with about 68,000 miles, and I’ve recently noticed smoke from the exhaust on startup.
Three times I’ve seen a very noticeable indigo/blue cloud in my rearview mirror. I finally managed to record it, but in the video the smoke doesn’t look nearly as blue as it did on those previous occasions.
It seems to happen on startup only. I don’t notice any smoke while driving, accelerating, or idling once the engine is running.
The car is out of warranty, so I’m trying to figure out what the most likely cause could be before taking it to a shop.
Has anyone experienced this on a MK8 GTI? Could it be valve stem seals, turbo seals, the PCV system, or something else?
