For some context, we live in a christian majority country, I’ve became muslim 3 years ago and he converted around 1.5 years ago and we’ve been friends for around 6 years.
Couple months ago, he started being around bad influences and got together with a girl. He also started smoking weed and drinking alcohol around this time (which I didn’t know as he was hiding it from me)
When he eventually told me about the girl I tried numerous times to advise him to stay away from her because she can ruin his deen.
When I found out about the other stuff he’d been doing I confronted him and eventually said “look man, I love you like a brother but I cannot respect what you’re doing, so at least for now, our friendship is going to take a step back”
Around 2 months later I messaged him saying “as salamu alaikum, lets catch up” and he said “I dont follow islam anymore” and didn’t want to specify reasons.
I know we don’t guide whom we want, but Allah guides whom He wills, but I’ve been really sad about it and I feel like I cant do anything about it.
