Hognose mom needs help!
I need help with my hognose. Dudes in his enclosure, hes fine, hes eating, doing his little thing.
My problem is, simply put, he scares the shit outta me. Granted ALL snakes do (I also have a ball) however Im comfortable holding them so long as someone hands them to me to hold. Except this guy. This guy hates me. I totally get why, he scares me and then I scare him.
My problem comes with the fact that he clearly loves my husband. Dude did hiss at him once. With me, its bluff strikes, hissing, and just very defensive snake behavior (and I know its defensive and not angry but my whole being feels hes angry at me). I mean I am terrified of putting my hand into his enclosure if hes on that side. He will eat from me juuuuuust fine. Albeit hissily.
How do I deal with this? He's pretty small still, and I know that handling will ease him in time, BUT HOW DO I PICK UP THIS DUDE?! I want more than anything to hold him, and I have no problems with our ball for the most part, but this guy is just tripping me out and making me regret saying yes to my husband.
