This is our first Hognose, Miss Kaida. We've had her for 2 weeks, she's had 2 meals & eats like a champ! The Breeder said she was pretty great as far as a calm personality so there hasn't been much sass so far-a little hiss here and there but no dramatics! I will begin some handling pretty soon. She is in a small tote with lots of clutter and she seems content. When can we transition her into a bigger enclosure? Nothing too big, maybe a 10 gallon? Or would she be okay to go into something bigger? I think since she's a pretty confident girl she would enjoy an upgrade. I appreciate any advice & thanks for your time!

Hey guys; new to Reddit. Prior to the rest of the story, he was having a fuzzy every 4 days with no issues.
Just need some advice, our male hognose has refused his normal feeding routine since we tried giving him a rat pup. On 1/5/26, we tried feeding him a rat pup which he was absolutely disgusted by & refused to eat this, this was followed by a normal fuzzy which he also refused to eat which is understandable as he was pissed off.
About 10 mins after he was glass surfing like he usually does when he’s hungry, so we tried again a few hours later & again he refused. He has glass surfed every day since & has only taken one fuzzy which was yesterday 11/5/26 & continues to glass surf. He is absolutely fine in himself & is growing really well but since the rat pup, he has been so off his food.
With regard to the fuzzy’s, we’ve tried poking a hole in the head so he can smell the scent me strongly but nothing is working. He should have had 3 feeds since that first day but has had one.
Husbandry & tank perimeters are perfect & he loves being held.
Any advice is welcome to help us get him feeding again.

Got the little guy around February, ever since I brought him home he has been eating every week until all of a sudden he just stopped.
It’s been 6 weeks now and I have tried everything, from scenting mice with tuna juice or salmon to braining. Nothing works :(

I attached my setup pic, there is a heating pad on the right side of the enclosure. And also some pictures of the poor little guy, his neck? (Not sure how to call it but the section behind his head) is very skinny and wrinkly. Please help not sure what to do.

He doesn’t have a name yet (definitely a boy) and omg I’m so obsessed already. I’ve wanted a hognose for a while, he’s not my first snake, but I finally got one as a sort of graduation present for myself. Names I’m considering: Phoenix, Osiris (Osi for short), Pluto, Reaper, and Anubis. Would not mind other suggestions, my current snakes names are Odin, Jack Skellington (Skelly), Bunzi, Mayday, and Angelica so there’s not really a theme going lol.

Ist es normal, dass mein Weibchen erst 35g wiegt?
Ich hörte sie sollten als ausgewachsene Schlange ca 200g haben?

Great feed this week from last year’s clutch with all of them taking their meals. They’re all officially yearlings now and packing on size (minus the runt but he is eating consistently now so he should get there with time!)

Next week we start pairing for this year, lets see what happens and fingers crossed 😁🤞

So this is Twiglet (aka Twiggy), one of my Western Hognoses. He'll be celebrating his 1st hatchday this month. I knew immediately he was meant to come live with me as my birthday is on the same day.

Twiglet and my other Hoggy, Snickers, are like chalk and cheese and that's one of the thousand things I live about the adorable snakes. Every one has a completely different character.
