I’ve known I’m nonbinary for years and done nothing about it
Six odd years ago I realized that I identify as nonbinary or more specifically agender. Gender has never been a big concern to me especially being an autist and I never really cared to think about it. My lack of gender is a part of me.
I come from a pretty liberal family and background. My parents struggle with people’s pronouns especially with They/Them pronouns. My mom once begged me not to come back from college using they them pronouns. I told her I wouldn’t and we laughed it off but it still kind of hurts. I know she would love me regardless if I came out but she also wouldn’t choose this for me.
To be honest I’m not even sure what I’d want from coming out other than to be accepted for who I am. I don’t think this is a big part of me and if I could choose not to have it I probably would. Still it feels very dishonest to myself to continue hiding for so long.
It’s to the point where I haven’t even told my closest friends or even any of my therapists because it’s simultaneously too insignificant and too personal.
I guess I wish I could be out without it being a problem.
How do I help enrich a captive crow's life?
About two years back my dad rescued a young crow with a broken leg but it was never able to fully recover. We built it a large enclosure in our back yard and cover all its basic needs but I have a feeling it is massively under-stimulated. We don't have any resources for "pet" birds in my country but I am able to order all sorts of things online if that would be helpful. I'm curious what people would recommend in order to enrich her life.
