1st ESP Ra.De. Super Easy Clear! No Miss!

I just got this in the mail after work, booted the damn thing up, picked Super Easy Alice and No Missed my very first run of the game!

I played this game on emulation a long time ago, but never gave it a proper playthrough. I know my only experience is with Super Easy, but I can see this easily becoming my favorite Cave game. The levels, music, Alice and flow were a lot of fun. Love the charged bomb mechanic and the special shot mechanic. Love flinging them across the field at popcorn and using them to burst down bosses.

This is my first M2 Cave port, so I was surprised by how easy the easy mode was. Are M2 easy modes easier than the Live Wire (DFK/Mushihinesama) novice modes? Because I did not expect to no miss my first run! My heart was racing!

So glad I picked this one up. I got the M2 DOJ also, but haven't booted it up yet. Excited to see how hard that ones easy mode is. I'm a scrub, so being able to clear, and no miss, even modes like these feel amazing!

Any tips for ESP or DOJ? Are the non easy modes of both a billion times harder than the easy modes?

Marion from Gunbird!

Psikyo holds a special place in my heart and I've been on a bit of a binge recently. Hearing Marion yell POWER UP has been making me giggle, so here we are. POWER UP!

My first Psikyo 1cc!

It was only difficulty 1, but I successfully 1cc'd Gunbird 1 with Ash on the Switch. Recently getting back into Shootemups after being away from them for a long time. Psikyo games were always near and dear to me, since Strikers 1945 was the first arcade cab I played as a kid.

I plan on going through each of them to 1cc at least on normal. Including Samurai Aces 1&2, Gunbird 1&2, Strikers 1-3 and Dragon Blaze. Followed by 1cc'ing the rest of my Switch library, but that's quite aways away right now.

If anyone has any tips on 1cc'ing any of these Psikyo games (characters, strats, etc) I'd be grateful.

Hot take?: Halo Combat Evolved's real draw...

...was local pvp.

When the first Halo came out, people would huddle together on couches, beds, and floors to play it locally. People would do small tournaments, hooking up multiple TVs and Xboxes together to play huge games. Friends would host parties where Halo was the main draw. Small game stores would have it hooked up to a TV to draw in more people. It was a phenomenon because of that community.

Fast forward to now, and I see Campaign Evolved hailed as a return to the series roots, but all I can think is, is the single player campaign really what everyone remembers? Is it really what made Halo what it is today? Maybe this is a hot take, but I don't think it is. It was remembered fondly and sold so many units for much the same reason Golden Eye and Perfect Dark moved so many units, local pvp. Halo wouldn't be where it's at without it, and this release feels empty and forgettable because of that.

Am I alone in this? Has everyone moved on from split screen PVP? Would local PVP really detracted from Infinite so much that them axing such an iconic game mode makes sense? I don't think so, but who am I to say.
