Tilburg Housing

Hey guys!

I’m an international student starting my program from September, and I am currently looking for housing. Honestly, before facing this many frustrations, I thought that if I increase my budget, everything will be settled. From 900 to 1300, and now I even raise to 1600.

I started to look for the housing from April, but I haven’t found it yet. For some who invite for viewing it’s almost impossible for me to arrange a physical one.

And for winning the housing lottery, I can’t even sure if it’s that I was too unlucky to not get one. No matter H2S or Magis or others. I joined the lottery every 3 days a time for Magis and every week on H2S.

Just want to know if anyone else join the lottery and ended up nothing? Should I also consider those short-term lease?

Any comments on accommodation at The City?

Hi y’all

Wonder if anyone has stayed at The City before?
I’m an international student, and would love to live somewhere that’s chill and diverse.

I’ve looked into a few comments, some said they were overcharged on their electricity bills. Don’t know if things have changed.

Internship possibilities

Hi all,

I am just curious if anyone start interning at the very beginning of their master’s degree?
(For example, start to intern and enroll to the school at the same time on September)

I’m an non-EU student. I find out there are only a few internships that I really want to be in, which is related to my previous work experience and also a connection to my next step of career. So, it sounds like some super rare opportunities to me.

I did some research and find out that most people do their internship at Blok 3, or even extended their master program just to do the internship. I also emailed to the school advisor for this question, but haven’t heard back yet.

I’m aware that it might be super hard to do internship and study at the same time, but I just want to grasp the chance.

Btw, how did people even have the ability to do a full-time internship and master program at the same time…

Hi guys, I’m choosing between Tilburg and Maastricht for a Master's in Supply Chain Management as a non-EU student. It would be great if I can get some insight from you.

1. Tilburg

- Pros: Flexible semester extension for internships; central location near Eindhoven (high-tech hub).

- Cons: Heard the environment might be less "international" compared to other cities.

2. Maastricht Pros/Cons

- Pros: Love the sourcing focus & the international vibe.

- Cons: a. PBL feels risky (highly dependent on group dynamics). b. concerned that the distance from Amsterdam/Eindhoven might limit internship opportunities.

My Questions:

  1. Is Tilburg that "conservative" for international students?

  2. Does the PBL system in Maastricht actually feel like a "nightmare" if you get a bad group or young TA without experience?

  3. How much does the location of Maastricht affect job/internship hunting in the NL?
