I'm wanting to listen to some different korean songs that I have not herd yet, I don't mind the genre or what group, band or soloist they are. What are your suggestions. I will listen to all recommendations.
I found these magazine scans about the lost sci-fi movie “Age of Peace (평화의 시대)” (2000) by the group H.O.T. (에이치오티), and I’m not sure if these have been shared before. I've checked all the subreddits and I couldn’t find any matches, so just in case.
They held a press conference on February 25th, 2000, at the 12th floor of the Diplomatic Center in Yangjae-dong, the Korea-Japan joint venture 21st Century D.
On one page, we can see sketches of some characters from the movie, like mascot robots, and soccer players with their uniforms (alien and human), and some scene frames sketched. Also some renders of the main stadium where the teams played soccer matches.

During this event, they screened a demo tape, which served as a prologue for the movie. The article’s reporter said:
>“To describe the feeling, you know those 3D theaters at amusement parks where you wear black glasses? Apples were falling down the stairs, and it felt like riding the 88 Train... You get the idea, right? But the sense of depth and realism was on a completely different level compared to what you can enjoy at an amusement park theater. Various characters moved right up to your face, and the movements were incredibly precise. The members couldn't stop exclaiming in amazement while watching the demo tape.”
On one page explains the whole movie’s plot chronologically. Here’s the translation:
>In the year 2200 AD, the Galaxy Cup qualifiers—a five-a-side soccer tournament held every four years between representative teams from each planet—are taking place on every planet across the galaxy. The Earth representative team, the runner-up of the previous tournament, has been on a winning streak in the Solar System qualifiers and finally secured a spot in the finals, plunging Earth into a festive atmosphere. Just before departing for Planet Zeus for the finals, H.O.T, the Earth Federation representative team, is invited to the Presidential Palace, where the President urges them to win the championship this time for the honor of Earth. The President's only daughter, Dana (다나), is also present at the gathering, and the H.O.T members are all completely captivated by her beauty, losing their composure...
>Finally, the Earth Federation director and H.O.T depart from Earth aboard a private spaceship, but everyone's hearts flutter when they discover that the President's daughter, Dana, is unexpectedly on board. They also show off their singing and dancing skills, as well as their dazzling soccer abilities, in an effort to impress Dana. In particular, Kangta (안칠현) tries his best to win Dana's favor.
>Representative teams from each planet arrive one after another at Zeus, and as a spectacular opening ceremony and special performances are held, dazzling celebratory stages featuring singers representing each strangely shaped planet unfold. However, when the singers scheduled to represent Earth fail to arrive on time due to a spaceship malfunction, the organizers are in a panic. Upon hearing this news, H.O.T tells the Earth Federation coach that it is a matter of Earth's prestige and asks to be allowed to take the stage in their place. The coach refuses, stating that they must focus on practice to win the championship, but H.O.T sneaks onto the stage behind the coach's back and delivers a magnificent celebratory performance, receiving praise from the numerous spectators. The coach is furious but lets the issue slide for the sake of player morale.
>Soon, the Galaxy Cup finals are divided into Groups A and B, and H.O.T, representing Earth in Group B, easily passes the preliminaries under the coach's seasoned guidance and advances to the finals as the top team in Group B. Meanwhile, the Reebok Planetary Team, the defending champions and strong contenders for this tournament, plays a rough game led by their captain, Muka, resulting in numerous players from other teams dying or suffering severe injuries. With the final match between H.O.T and the Reebok Planetary Team just two days away, the Earth Federation coach summons H.O.T for a meeting and expresses his determination to win.
>Meanwhile, Kangta places a virtual clone of Director Olle in his place and follows Dana, who is touring the famous landmarks of Star Zeus, constantly looking for an opportunity to approach her. However, he witnesses Dana being kidnapped by armed thugs who suddenly appear, and although he chases after them to rescue her, he ultimately loses her. Consequently, Kangta rushes back to the lodgings and informs the Earth Federation director of the incident.
>While the director is anxious about the fact that the President's daughter has been kidnapped, he receives a call from unknown assailants who identify themselves as ILA agents from Planet Takar. They state that they will release Dana if H.O.T forfeits the finals and also releases their commander, who is currently imprisoned on Earth, before hanging up.
>Just then, a call comes in from the President asking to speak to Dana, but the Director brushes it off by saying she had briefly gone sightseeing in the city, thus narrowly escaping the crisis. After hanging up, the Director and H.O.T hold a strategy meeting, but racking their brains trying to come up with no good idea, when suddenly Kangta comes up with an idea.
>They decide to send virtual clones into the finals in their place and rescue Dana in the meantime, so they transform into the Earth Special Forces and set out. Eventually, H.O.T finds the assailants' hideout and succeeds in rescuing Dana.
>However, the virtual clones participating in the finals suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat in the first half alone. The commentator and announcer broadcasting the match live to Earth criticized the players, stating they could not understand H.O.T's listless performance, which was unlike their previous matches.
>Barely arriving at the stadium just as the first half was ending, H.O.T eliminated the virtual clones and entered the second half determined to win. Amidst a breathtaking close match against the notoriously rough Reebok Planetary Team, H.O.T mounted a massive comeback by scoring consecutive goals. Commentator Shin Mun-seon repeatedly shouted, "Goal! Goal! It's a goal!" delivering his signature commentary, as H.O.T finally achieved a crushing 6-5 comeback victory and lifted the Galaxy Championship Cup.
>The people of the Earth Federation who witnessed this were swept up in a festive atmosphere, and having completed all their schedules, H.O.T returned to Earth aboard their private spaceship with Dana.

Does anyone here own just the DVD or the limited edition version?
While looking into the whole concept of "universes," "concepts," or "lore" in K-pop, I wondered if any first-generation group had something similar—and naturally, H.O.T. immediately came to mind. Given the nature of music videos like "The Promise of H.O.T.," "I Yah!," or "Hope," you could say the members act as something like guardian angels for the youth; that mystical aura they always carried certainly reinforces that idea. What do you all think? Which other first-generation K-pop groups could also be considered to have a universe or storyline woven through their music videos?
Just randomly going through Ebay to see if there are any albums of H.O.T, or any of their solo work for sale and found one of Kangta's live albums.
I own a few CD's that I bought in a bundle a while ago and want to sell them because i want to down size my collection and because I'm not very interested in collecting more CD's from those specific artists.
Where would the best place to sell them 🤔
All the photos are from H.O.T book that was scanned online. I was going to download the book so I don't have to keep renting it but haven't been able to do.
Just watched the Chinese version of the Secret Garden which Kangta acted in and a few shots showed art two of them were the characters "fan made" merch and the two pop art of Kangta are his characters art.
This was probably what H.O.T and Kangta fans rooms looked/ look like 🤭
Just randomly found out that Kangta acted in (and watched on YouTube) the Chinese version of the Secret Garden which had no English subtitles so i had no idea what they were saying but an idea what what going on as i started watching the Korean version 😭
