Perchè lasciarli in vita?

Question about episode 48

If Johan erased the end of the tape, it means he was sure no one had listened to it. But a few episodes earlier, Grimmer and Suk had listened to the tape, stopping because Grimmer was feeling sick. How did Johan know Grimmer and Suk had stopped listening?

Il nichilismo di Johann Liebert

Hi guys, I have a question about the nihilistic vision of Johan Liebert, the protagonist of Naoki Urasawa's anime Monster. If I understand correctly, until Johan recovers his memory by reading the fairy tale in the library, his goal is to be the last one alive at the end of the world. With this, I think he wants to demonstrate that life is completely pointless, meaningless, not because he feels like a victim, but rather to prove that life has no value. By having people kill each other (which is why he doesn't do it; he wouldn't prove it), he would demonstrate that morals, the values we create for ourselves, such as affection, friendship, love, and general bonds, are merely illusions. In reality, when pushed to the limit, human beings will always look only to their own interests, killing others to save themselves. Therefore, the very concept of morality would be meaningless to him. If life had an intrinsic value, it could not be destroyed by an external force. If life decided who is poor and who is rich, who is beautiful and who is ugly, then it would have meaning, but we are always the ones who set these criteria, because life (for Johan) is meaningless in itself. And by causing everyone to destroy the values they believed in, he demonstrates that those values were created by man himself to have a reason to live, to get up in the morning. So not only does life have no meaning, but neither do the values man attributes to it, because you can't give meaning to something that has none. And by causing men to kill each other in the final apocalypse, they are destroying the very values they created, and thus Johan would demonstrate that they were living in an illusion. And by doing so, all men would be equal, that is, in death. I don't know if I explained myself well, probably not, I hope you can understand me and tell me if I was right or not. Thank you ❤

Tenma knows which twin Vera wanted to let go?

If Vera told Tenma that she was forced to give up one of the twins, regardless of whether or not she was confused about who she let go, could Vera have told Tenma which of the two she wanted to send away at that moment?
