Camino Francés in September
I’m walking the Camino Francés starting from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on September 17, and I’m getting a little anxious about accommodations.
I’d really like to keep my Camino flexible instead of booking every night in advance, but I’m worried about arriving somewhere and finding that everything is full.
For those of you who have walked the Francés in September:
How often did you reserve accommodation?
Did you usually book the same day, a day or two ahead, or not at all?
Were there any stages or towns where you definitely recommend making a reservation?
Did anyone actually end up without a place to sleep?
I’ll mostly be staying in albergues (public or private), but I’m open to the occasional hostel or pension if needed.
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks, and ¡Buen Camino!
