How do you store them??? I need some inspiration.
Ideally I'd have a place on my desk for vertical storage. My desk top space is somewhat limited but having a freakin' flat stack of multiple notebooks is starting to drive me nuts.
I didn't start making any progress with mapping our system in any shape that made any sense until I started accounting for living life when autistic and the differences between autistic trauma and 'regular' childhood trauma. I have trauma that might not have been trauma if I wasn't autistic. I have alters in here that started out one way but in the process of just doing life they became trauma holders too.
I've so far met one DID focused workbook that was actually helpful and I gotta return to it but my physical health shit has slowed down the process. But I keep having to bounce back and forth between different workbooks and my own figuring outs.... and I keep returning to the same thing and it's driving me nuts cause it can't be true can it? I feel like a lot of DID 'literature' and even structural dissociation theory is possibly wrong for autistic brains. Just. wrong.
There's things my therapist - who is experienced with DID - and seems to know the literature - will describe in relation to alters or flashbacks or trauma holders causing flashbacks specifically - and it's just completely wrong for *me* (us). Also, if you want to use like Janina Fisher's work or even Coping with Trauma Related Dissociation (the book sitting in front of me right now) that have the "doing life as normal" parts mentioned alongside the trauma holders.... doing life as autistic is not the same as doing life as normal.
I'm beginning to feel like I need to write a freakin' book cause nothing really truly fits for me. No way I'm alone here. I seriously doubt it.
This make any sense to anyone? Anyone relate? Anyone think of anything tangentially related?
