UI Changes in Preview

They are awful. I need to complain to Workday.

Has anyone seen the actual release note pertaining to the UI changes. I'm not talking about the Worker Profile, but the overall UI itself. If you don't understand, just open a Preview tenant and click into anywhere that has a selection list, like a custom report filter.

This is absolute trash, the way the font is smaller than before and spaced way out. I'm over it!

EDIT: I found it on the What's New in Workday Report: https://doc.workday.com/release-notes/en-us/uiplatform/10823398.html

Workday can expect a rant incoming...

Embedded Analytic on Hire (Initiation)

If you have an embedded analytic in your Hire/Ready for Hire initiation step, I'm looking for either a sample or a simple explanation of what data source and fields you're using!

I'm just trying to populate some data about the proposed Job Profile so that the user completing the Hire doesn't need to click out of the process. My thought was that I could use the position to drive this, including data in the report related, i.e. the position's Job Profile's Company Insider Type.

I've tried:

  • All Hire Employee Events
  • All Positions
  • All Workers

None of these populate data; the analytic remains with "no data found".

With the All Hire Employee Events attempt, I used Position as the filtered field. Yes, the Hire has a position populated.

I'm sure it's just a field or data source issue!

TIA

Company Insider Type Blank in Hire Event

We created a particular job profile this past March, 2026. A Company Insider Type was added at that time.

A position was created in May using the new job profile, for a new Job Requisition. We are now hiring a candidate into the position in August.

The Company Insider Type is blank in the Hire. It is definitely not blank on the Job Profile, and per WD Documentation, we expect it to populate automatically.

I have searched everywhere and can't figure out why this field would appear blank.

It's not hidden in Optional Fields, and I'm not seeing any pre-Hire location that it would even appear to de-select!

Any idea what I'm missing?

Effective Date a Day Ahead after EIB Completes

Here's a fun one that I've never seen happen in all my years!

I'm doing work for a new client, loading Put Comp Grade and Submit Job Profile for some new job catalog stuff. Nothing new, done it many times before. My EIB has 1/1/1900 as the effective date. Normal, right?

Well, the effective date in the tenant is appearing as 1/2/1900 instead, once the data has been loaded. Why would that be?

I'm using their VPN but am connected to a US location (CA, to be exact). My Workday profile time zone is set as Chicago (not mine, but that's close enough).

This feels like a weird laptop or Google account setting issue with me, not Workday, as I've never had this before and this is the first I've been independent with my own machine.

Any ideas?

Twitch, anyone?

I am super curious to know if you use Twitch in general, or would be interested in using it more. It's an app I think my inner need could enjoy but need to know more! 🤓 😎

Query about Independent Support Offerings

Hi all

I have recently started my own independent consulting gig and want to explore new options for supporting the community. I have nearly 20 years of experience in Human Resources which includes roles as a generalist, Payroll & Benefits Specialist, and HRIS Specialist. I have 5 years in consulting prior to going on my own. I'm not looking to advertise here, just gauge interest.

Two things I've considered are:

  1. Mentorship/Workday Consultant Coaching: I would take on 1-2 but, depending on the value received and successfulness, I could offer more.

  2. Office Hours/Group Support: 1-2 times per month for 60-90 minutes, open to whomever.

Questions:

- Are either of these of interest to you? Would you potentially want one or both for yourself?

- What would you pay for either? What is reasonable for you where you are in your career/life?

In general, I appreciate any feedback you have about this!
