Context: I'm currently mid season 5 of twd (this is my first ever time watching)

I've been told 2 main opinions. 1) after season 1 switch and watch fear the walking dead and essentially watch in release order. 2) watch the entirety of twd (1-11) and then watch the spin off and watching them each from start to end.

Any opinions from the veteran watchers?
