Trying to move in with my partner….
So my boyfriend and I are looking at houses to rent in Las Vegas. The only problem is that my credit is absolute ass. I’m working on it, but I don’t qualify for anything on my own. My income is good though and I make 3x to 4x more than the rent for the places we’re looking.
My boyfriend though, he meets all the eligibility criteria. Credit, income, rental history are all good.
It seems uncommon for a landlord to allow only one person to be on the lease if someone else is living there too…. I don’t know what to do! We need to move out in 1-2 months and I’m just so concerned that we’ll be rejected everywhere because of me.
Are there any workarounds? We obviously want to be honest upfront, but I’m not sure if I can be listed as an unauthorized occupant opposed to applicant or something? I’m not sure what’s common and what would appease most landlords. I’m stressing!
