I promise I'm not a product shill, I just want to share something that reduced my consumption of paper products massively.
I have HORRIBLE chronic rhinitis, which means my nose leaks like a faucet 24/7. I could go through an entire box of tissues in a day. For several years I switched to paper towels because they were tougher and I could use the same one multiple times before throwing it away. I was still going through way too many paper towels, wasting money, and making my nose raw.
I tried terry cloth washcloths for a bit. They were too thick and too rough, honestly unbearable. I tried regular cotton handkerchiefs, they were too big, too smooth, too thin, not absorbent enough. I was stuck with paper towels as my best option for like 15 years and I hated myself for it because of how many ended up in the trash each day.
Long story short, I finally found the solution, but it was kind of an obscure product and as far as I can tell, only made by very small businesses and independent sellers. I had to HUNT for these things.
2-ply handkerchiefs, one side unbleached cotton flannel and the other side terry cotton. They are PERFECT. They're thick enough that one will last an entire day. I bought 30 of them and just wash them all at the end of the month.
Just passing this along in case anyone has similar issues. I wish I knew this option existed years ago...I'm saving so much money on paper towels and I don't have to take out the trash as often.
I decided to put more attention into each block for this city and I think it made a huge difference. The benches, trees, and red brick pavers in front of the stores add a lot of visual interest. I also added trees to parking lots, and fences and bollards where they make sense. I don't think I'll do this for every block, just some important areas.
There were no survivors
This picture doesn't properly convey what a mess of cars, trams, and pedestrian traffic this thing is. Pure chaos but somehow it works.
The economy is built on apple farming and tourism so far, but other industries are starting to emerge. WIP.
This ancient ruin has been converted into a luxury campground/tourist trap. It is now the economic backbone of Braeburn County.
I'm planning to build a grungy city centered around this mining operation. Still a WIP but the bones are there.
I started with one homestead, then I imagine younger generations build new houses nearby. The whole neighborhood is populated by one massive family. This family makes money from illicit moonshine, roadside produce sales, and pony rides, then they use that money to buy up more property.
I'm trying to understand the lore, forgive me if this sounds stupid.
I understand that Pyramid Head's purpose is to teach James a lesson by breaking his delusion about Mary. PH can only be killed if James comes to terms with his guilt, otherwise he just keeps coming back to terrorize James.
Angela feels guilty about killing her father, but unlike James, her murder was justified. Abstract Daddy is her guilt and trauma that she refuses to confront, she only runs away from it, so she's caught in an endless loop of being hunted. She only attacks it after James kills it, but the implication is that her monster will come back because she did not confront it herself.
I believe if Angela attacked the Abstract Daddy, it would destroy itself like Pyramid Head did.
I also believe Eddie doesn't even have a Pyramid Head because he's a sociopath with no guilt over what he did. James ironically ends up being his Pyramid Head in a way, arriving to deliver justice.
Am I understanding right?
A self-sustaining cult compound in the middle of nowhere. A lot of slav--I mean, workers live here. The pigs in the upper left make the bodies disappear. :O
