Still rocking an OG Shield from 2015. Started getting buffering issues with Plex months ago and always assumed it was related to the server.
Lo and behold, I tried to use Plex with the Apple TV and no more buffering issues. No audio passthrough but perfectly smooth and stable video.
I've tried changing tons of settings on the Shield (log size etc), resetting the app, etc. Nothing really fixes it.
I repasted the Shield about a year ago so I don't think I'm getting throttling issues.
It's definitely not the network. Wifi speed test gives me 300Mbits/s which is plenty for 80Mbits bluray rips.
Do you think a 2019 model might fix it or is the Android TV app just forever borked?
