I made a post a few days ago about a GSD who won’t eat. His owner said that yeah this isn’t the food she’s used to he did this last year she’ll eat. WHY WOULD YOU SEND DIFFERENT FOOD?! And it’s day 4 and I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried different wet foods, my dogs kibble, feeding outside, feeding outside after walk, feeding inside after walk,adding chicken broth, serving in a plate, heating it up, leaving it out overnight, any trick I’ve tried. The only thing he will eat are treats and chicken (he gets the chicken at home). If I mix the food with chicken he’ll just pick out the chicken. I tried shredding the chicken in with the food and he no longer cared. Idk what to do. I’m having daily panic attacks over this. I don’t think its anxiety its just not having the food she wants so she won’t eat. I can’t just go buy the food she normally eats because it’s one of those fresh food subscription boxes. She’s with me for over a month so it’s not like she can just live on chicken. I don’t wanna send this dog back in poor health.

Update: it’s hard to get in touch with the owner but I messaged support and they sent him my message in an email asking if he can get the regular food delivered to me. So hopefully he responds and says yes. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Update 2: the owner responded saying oh just mix in scrap food and she’ll most likely eat the canned food. Like dude I’m telling you she won’t eat it. Do you even care that your dog isn’t eating? I’ve gotten her to eat some kibble I have for my dog. So I guess I’m feeding her kibble.

I just need to vent. I set up a meet and greet at 11 am. At about 10:30 he said he was 35 minutes away. Great. I wait and wait and wait. It gets to be 11:30. I ask if he’s almost here he replies oh I cancelled because I found a friend to pet sit. Ok so were you just not gonna tell me?! You know I’m waiting for you to come why would you not tell me. Like that’s incredibly rude and disrespectful. I feel like owners on rover sometimes forget I’m also a human being with feelings and a life.

I’m doing drop in visits on these two dogs and one is very nervous to the point where she won’t eat. The owner says she is very food motivated. She refused dinner last night and breakfast today. I don’t want her starving all weekend. I’ve tried walking away giving her a treat I tried every trick the owner has. I can’t just leave the food down when I leave cause the other dog will steal it.
