Guys, we’re old now. It’s okay.

I keep seeing people come back to BO2 saying, “This game was never this sweaty when I was younger.”
Is gaming probably more competitive now? Probably I guess. The average player is better, everyone already knows the meta, and people have another decade of FPS experience. But come on, we also got older 😭.

A lot of us were kids when BO2 came out. We could play for hours every day after school. Now we’re pushing 30, working jobs, paying bills, and hopping on whenever we have time. A lot of y’all even have kids. The game is 14 years old, guys.

But, BO2 absolutely had sweats in 2012. Quickscopers, prestige masters, meta weapons, hackers/modders, C4 spammers, and dudes who seemingly played COD for a living.

We are literally the demographic we were destroying as kids. It’s okay, man. The cycle is complete. Granted, I’m not as trash as a lot of you guys are, but my 2012 self is raw-dogging my current self if we faced each other lmao.

Yes, ChatGPT copies you, please stop posting about it.

I’m not sure why this keeps getting spammed recently but it’s obnoxious. Yes, ChatGPT mimics you. If you find that annoying, then I’m afraid you dislike how you talk. That must be a daunting realization.

Now I won’t explain the alarming implication of you not liking to communicate with something that sounds like you, as I think it violates Rule 1 in this sub. However, there’s a bafflingly obvious statement to be made here.

That being said, an exception in the recent update may have increased emoji usage for some people regardless of how they talk, so fair enough on that specific complaint.

Thank you for your time.

Why is New Game+ at launch somehow being treated as a bad sign?

I’m genuinely confused by some of the reactions to Wolverine having New Game+ on day one.

For years I’ve seen people complain that NG+ should be a standard launch feature instead of something added months later. Now Insomniac announces exactly that, and suddenly I’m seeing “the campaign must be 8 hours” or “this makes me worried the game is short.”

We literally saw this with Spider-Man 2 as well, where NG+ was added after launch and a lot of people in this very subreddit (and the Spider-Man one as well) immediately said it should’ve been there from day one. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

There’s also a massive gap between an 8-hour game and a 60-hour game that seems to disappear whenever game length gets discussed. A focused 20 hour campaign with optional content, mission replay and NG+ could be perfectly substantial.

Obviously if the game releases and actually feels too short or rushed, criticize it. But it feels weird to turn a feature people have been asking developers to include at launch into evidence that something must be wrong with a game that isn’t even out yet.

The Collective Amnesia is Astounding. “She lost her identity”. What identity? Being the Symbol of Throwing? Stop.

Let’s get serious for a second. The majority of this comment section is complaining. I’m baffled. Y’all do not ride for Natasha like this. Everyone has been calling her a throw pick since release lol, now everybody is a diehard Widow main? Man miss me with that bs.

I do get it, but they even explained why they had to do this. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

PHonE dArT OP, nERF iT

“It’s too spammable” - then don’t use it

“It’s an Instawin!” - then don’t use it

“You should only be able to use it once per mission” - rage bait.

Like are we serious? It’s a single player game. It is not a multiplayer game, get a grip. It’s annoying when people complain about overpowered items in a single player game acting like they HAVE to use it.

Edit: Since certain people are merging arguments: I’m specifically talking about the “it’s an instawin / too spammable / nerf it” takes.

Saying the mechanic could use more depth is a similar, yet separate criticism. That’s fine. But that’s not the argument I was responding to.

Nerfing an item does not magically give it mechanical depth.
