Nobody's perfect, nor am I, but there's only one soul I see with clear eyes, & I refuse to rise if it means their demise, for Heaven rejoices over the many the one soul who cries, n if I may I'll reach in the dark, to not leave behind a repentant soul that tries, so if it means I'll lose that one, then I'll fall too for GOD deep down I know they only trying to get to you, it may not be by the best of means yet a humble heart that leads is all they need, how can I call your mercy without the grace you've granted for me, how can the land see healing if not from the bottom up, how can I speak unconditional if at the worst I've given up, if it means I'll lose that one soul who wants to turn away, then I too will lose my faith in the tomorrow's that could bring a better way ...

People say they don't know what love is,

Yet hesitate not to seek the things that they find love in,

Stuck running through your trauma gasping for air cause you running out of breath,

When are you gonna open your eyes to see the you that I see,

A beautiful light surrounded by the darkness of the past keeping you from being the best you that you can be,

When are you gonna stop judging yourself for mistakes you already want to end,

You're already tired so turn away n rest for tomorrow is a new day a fresh chapter may begin,

When are you gonna understand what's real & what's false & find hope that pain is not the final boss,

That you have suffered enough inside the betrayal, the sacrifice, the lack, the words that attack, the anger that will attach, the love you thought was lost,

When will the pride be put aside to find that you are no longer afraid with something to hide,

That it doesn't have to be seen or loud to the people, places, & things that do not define the truth of you who holds true love deep inside,

Sometimes you wonder when, sometimes I remember when, sometimes I've seen when, other times I've known when, that time I wasn't aware when, why did you have to go when, left alone in the pain when, I realized I fell in love when, i felt most alive when, I didn't mean to do that when, I could've done more when, I missed my chance when, nobody likes me when, I don't like it when, I'll do it when, maybe when,

Because everyday is appreciated for a mother's. pain,

Every woman is a mother, biological or not in her nurturing ways,

R.I.P. mama, honoring your life & death in the same month is a battle alright, yay n nay split n two cause they are both in the frame,

You died all alone, your oldest he failed his own, the curses still gotta hold, I'm trying, but tryings old, I'm doing it ain't enough, this mission that I am on, for better yet the worst returns n says I'm home, n the pain, as you'd say, hurt now cry later, now it's later behind my eyes, I lost it all when I was down n I would cry, just so the anger wouldn't take over, heart frozen n I kiss it goodbye,

I'll Stand Firm

I will not retreat, whether looking down from the mountain top, or up from the streets,

I believe in love between man & woman, whether with money for a feast, or nothing at all starving for something to eat,

I play video games, not games where my kids future can't respawn to start over, because my character can't be tamed,

I will not cheat, do not cheat, nor will I stay down n out, let my soul press delete,

I grew up in a broken home, I don't have to pick up a microphone, to say what's true less the kids future begone,

Idc for the status, idc for the fame, idc if I don't conform & the world calls me lame, I care about you people not seeing how these insane actions affect the ones we claim, claim to love, claim to protect, but it's the kids who are left in chains,

I Can't Give Up On People

People have their own ways, no not all of them are good, but there are those just stuck in ways they are simply misunderstood, how can I relate to them, if I'm too far & out of reach, looking down as they fall will never settle well in me, there were the days, when people prayed & the word was currency, I'm not GOD at all, I've felt my wrongs, yet the Spirit lives in me as it does in them, so I hope today, that one day we can rebuild communities, where the fruits of the spirit is leading the way & the love is free, not everyone is good, don't have to be a fool, not everyone's bad, rejoice & be glad, cause only in truth is one to see, that's why I can't give up on people, even if it's harder for me ...

Love What You Hate, Hate What You Love

I love what I hate, because it's comfort n it hides what I'm fearing away,

N I hate what I love, because to let go exposes all the things that I fear,

I loved how it cracked me open, yeah feeling truly alive, until the ones I chose to fully love took advantage & lied, now I do what I do, even tho I hate that I do, but I love the feeling, the love ain't in it, easy to hide within that it's empty inside, & now I think it's love now that it's glittered with pride, getting money, options, but the trust is funny, yet my eyes are closed so it ain't nothing to lose, it's like it's a dream, true love pushed aside, secured n access denied, avoiding love like poison no longer safe to reside, what's up is down what's down is up, cause I learned how to love what I hate, n hate what I love, as I'm afraid to come alive again n my love ain't enough ...
