Backblaze using over 300 GB of storage space on C: Drive

Not sure if others have run into this issue but my searches online have proven fruitless.

My bzdatacenter file folder is over 300 GB in sive, mostly from the over 6000 .aside files which range from dozen to hundreds of MB each. I've only been running Backblaze for a few months to backup about 5 TB of data. I just can't imagine it takes 300 GB of local space to catalog changes or version history for my data.

The files in the bzdatacenter folder have names like "aside_bz_done_20260929_0.dat_safety_fix_179040.aside" which incline me to think they are some kind of update. There are between 50 and 100 modified per day and they are usually all dated to within a minute of each other.

Just curious if anyone else has had this issue before and knows of a way to fix it? Support told me to delete my backup then uninstall and reinstall the client, but re-uploading will take weeks on my new ISP since moving so I'd really like to avoid that, and to avoid having to do this again in 4 months.

Edit to add: after parsing through the logs it seems there is a repeating self heal loop which is causing these safety fixes to be downloaded and to accumulate. Really not sure how to fix this since it's happening at minimum once per day with each loop triggering upwards of 30 to 40 downloads.

Update: I have no idea how, as this problem had seemingly been going on for months, but it's fixed now. I woke up this morning to find no more .aside files in my bzdatacenter folder.
