B1/B2 VISA REFUSED UNDER 214B looking for advice
Location- chennai
Status- Medical student ( I study abroad final year )
Letter- Hospital observership
Purpose: I explained that I’m a final-year medical student and had been selected for an observership at XYZ Hospital.
What is the full name of the hospital? I stated the exact name of the hospital.
Who is sponsoring your trip? My father.
What does your father do? I explained his occupation.
Do you have sufficient funds? Yes. she asked to show the documents I showed my father’s ITR, bank statements, and company details as proof of financial support.
The officer was typing from time to time.
After some time, she asked me which year are you in ?- I replied final year med student
Does your hospital provide accommodation? I said no, and explained that I would be staying at a place approximately 5 minutes away from the hospital.
Is it paid accommodation? I said yes.
She started typing again. After that, she said, “Sorry, your visa has been refused under Section 214(b).”
She also mentioned be updated on ongoing immigration laws/policies and said to apply again next time
i think rejection could be be due to either obsevership as medical student, usually med students apply for electives,
next is my father itr it showed 9 lakhs - which is monthly 1 lac he earns officer only saw the itr and first two pages of bank statement which she noted it had around 1,6 lakhs.
or it could be im studying in abroad uni.
what should I do in this case, im planning to apply for clinical elective in a recognized university program where they provide accommodations too, and planning to add my uncle who is a doctor for sponsoring my trip and also my dad. what should I do, any valuable advices will be grateful. Im really lost
