Another Prius to the family

It took my mom a weekend to decide she wanted a Prius after borrowing mine. Meet her new to her 2010 Prius 2 with leather and 205k miles. It was a one owner which felt rare. I bought it at auction for $2,400.

We got an oil change on it right away as we were far from home. The oil shop said the oil smelled like gas but since the oil change is still new I don’t smell it. I did an obd read and no codes.

We are monitoring the consumption of gas and first fill actual 223 miles with 96 miles left. I do think a 12v battery will be needed as I noticed the date on it was 12/2018. Yikes!

Other than that my mom loves the car! I added a photo of the motor because that’s what sold me! Looked so clean.

New to the Prius World

After a few months of looking I bought my first Prius! A 2014 Toyota Prius 2 with 150k miles. Paid $5,500 and i m in love!

Already got the oil change. Planning to get the spark plugs replaced some point next month. I have been monitoring the gas consumption, first fill estimated 550 miles to E. Actual used was 330 miles with estimated 70 miles to e (I don’t like running to low). I already filled again and it’s estimating 565 miles to E.

On another note my mom borrowed my car last weekend and she really loved it and is having me find one for her. I guess we will see how that goes!

What should I pay?

I am looking at a 2009 Prius with 160k miles, body is clean, but it’s missing a catalytic converter. It’s in an auction, what is the most I should pay? Maybe I should put more info but this is all that is available to me. I do have the vin and can run a carfax. What should I worry about if the Cats is missing besides this? I plan to see it in person sometime this week.
