I'm getting into engineering next year and I have been out of school for the last 5 years. I've been studying math and that so I'm "ready" for it but does anyone who is currently in mechanical or mechatronics engineering have any advice on what I need to know before getting into the course?

Hi, I am looking to start uni next year and I have been out of school for about 5 years now. Is there anything I should know or be prepared for getting into this course and does anyone have any advice or experience with it so I know what I'm getting into? I'm trying to do Engineering Honors with Mechatronics.
