DAE think social media platforms are trying to get us interacting with real people even less?
I have a strong suspicion that sites like Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, etc. are all trying to get us to talk to each other less and instead focus on scrolling and consuming more content from them mindlessly. That partially makes sense too because they make more money the more you scroll. But I also suspect it's because it's a good thing for their owners and donors for the average person to just read a few comments from the bot astroturfing and media narrative accounts, accept what they read without any thinking, then move onto the next thing without questioning any of what they see.
