Delivery drivers waiting in car parks for more orders, food poisoning and poor refunds. Is this really the future of food delivery?

So Friday just came i did a late online order for Mcdonalds (12 05am). Once again and this is very common for me, the delivery driver decided he wanted to do a trip down the other side of my town before going to the restaurant which okay is fine, i understand, what i dont understand was the 40 minutes sat in the car park while my food was getting dangerously cold, enough to give me an upset stomach the following night. I try get a refund as other than the burgers (Mcchicken the culprit i believe for the upset stomach), they only gave 30% of what i paid back.

Next night, i give them the benefit of the doubt, same thing happened, in fact it got so bad my order was fully cancelled after awhile, go to Justeat, same restaurant, same order, was at my door in 30 minutes.

What doesnt help and also is a slap in the face is how Uber does multiple orders, its doesnt order peoples orders from time since ordered its to distance, meaning me who ordered first gets it last every time. Either way im wondering if this is common for people or im just an unlucky person. You pay more for the convenience on not only delivery but the food itself, youd expect a bit of a better service. Also for drivers, do you not get any guilt when sitting in the car park for more orders? The funny thing is i tip all my orders first too but im very reluctant to even do that. Guess this is a learning experience, stop being lazy after work and cook yourself, apologise for the rant.
