Maybe a dumb question but my local Home Depot has this butcher block on clearance. I was thinking about using it for the head of a bed but it's not the right color I want. If I sand it down will the boards be a lighter color I could stain or no? Photo of butcher block and desired color added for reference. Thanks in advance!
