How do you deal with these Islands, I’m at the last set of islands, and this condition just sucks, your whole party gets staggered after like two fights for the whole island, walk at a snails pace, and can be cured only by greater restoration… but that spell cant be used by a staggered character!

This is just… such nonsense.

I do enjoy this game, it is fun, but some fights and enemies, or gimmicks are a bit way overtuned. XD

I am only on Normal.

I cannot imagine this game on higher difficulties. xD Some fights like at the Echoes of fury place, practically needed nat 20’s, and Nat 1’s from enemies to win. Haha I mean even with buffing.

So, I come from 5e/BG3.

This game I am loving the story, and customization stuff, but sometimes combat feels… bad? Like say I have a caster, Ember, or my MC, is the whole point really just to give them a crossbow and let them use that as a main weapon, maybe get off a spell that 9/10 times seems to fail? Cuz cantrips suck, they might have a niche use if an enemy has 1-2 hp.

Right now I cant seem to even really use spells, because I have to save them all for heals? After a combat it feels like I am chugging healing potions like some kind of addict. I had 50 light cure potions at one point now I have less than half.

The damage in this game feels so low sometimes, hitting an enemy with 40 hp for only 2, just feels bad, or just seem to miss a lot.

I’m not playing on core, just normal difficulty, cuz I did read that Core is basically like a hard mode, and you have to practically min max this game for Core or higher.

I am giving Bard a try, or I may switch to Witch, I dunno. I tried Witch for a bit, but Hexes just didnt seem that good? Everything seems to only lasts a single round, and cant be used again for 24 hours? Mainly seemed to use my spell slots on healing also, the Channels helped keep my party topped up a bit more though…

I dunno, just any general advice?

Edit: My race is Dhampir, currently running Seelah, Wenduag, Neno?, Ember, and Camelia.

So, I’m a new player, got the game, coming from BG3. This has been a bit of a wild experience so far, I feel like I’ve spent a crazy about of time reading, and barely got to scratch the game. Haha

I just recently got to the inn and left it, so basically got through the Tutorial I guess. Felt like a huge accomplishment that maze of rooms was crazy large.

Anyway, Pathfinder is definitely a steep learning curve and have very little idea as to what I am doing. I was looking for build advice. I chose a Dhampir as a race since they arent in BG3, and Vampires are cool, or at least as close to a Vamp one gets.

I was torn between the Hex crafter magus, and Hex Channeler Witch, decided on the witch cuz they are a full caster. Though a Spellblade type sounded cool.

First feat I took was Hex Channeler, positive energy. Iceplant and Misfortune hex so far at level 3.

Stats are Str 9, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 16, Wis 12, Cha 16.

I was thinking of going into Winter Witch later if I could, not sure exactly what some of the reqs for it are.

I know Pathfinder is very different but couldnt find much Advice on Witch builds in the subreddit. It also does feel weird that most time I’m stuck using a Cross Bow over.. spells, cuz Cantrips in this game are just… bad?

I dont know what Mythic path to go down, kinda thinking trickery, but I do want to try to stay on a good path, so Chaotic good should be fine. But if anyone has other ideas or things for me to look into would appreciate it.

This is my first time playing, and I am kinda angry with this.

I wanted the good ending, but I guess I’m now locked out of it, all because I missed the prompt to restore Nikola? This is so infuriatingly stupid, cant go back either I guess.

This boss is just a bit much, really cool boss fight, but I’ve died like 20 or 30 times here.

Almost ten of those are because of her glide attack, not because of lack of dodging it, but because it can somehow hit you when you are behind her, and then she glides over and kills my partner, taking us both out at the same time. It has zero telegraphing.

And she just does so much damage, can nearly one shot us with some of her moves.

Another thing, healing is soo slow, by the time I finish trying to heal half the time I get hit by something else, negating the heal or putting me even lower than before, also healing in this game is so low? I only heal like 300 something hp? Hardly enough.

I just came to Rant, thats all.
