Teresa Fox blocking fact checkers?

I finally realized Teresa Fox’s campaign page blocked me. Why? She made an inflammatory claim, cited a source, and I asked for clarity on where in the report she found the statistic to back up her claim.

I’m miffed because I wasn’t rude or nasty or demeaning. It wasn’t a gotcha. It was me saying “here’s a screenshot from the report you cited, what am I missing?” I’m disappointed, though maybe not surprised, that someone running for public office wouldn’t engage her constituents in an honest conversation about (allegedly) fact-based claims. I’m pissed that someone who wants to live on our dime would make a false claim, present it as fact, and then block anyone who questions the lie.

Can I encourage everyone here to be the nerd and read the citations? Because I’m struggling with the idea that these politicians think we’re idiots and we’re not.

Again, I normally don’t post about this stuff because I think “what’s the point? Everyone’s a bot.” But maybe some NK citizens will see this and think twice about believing her claims. Anyone’s claims, really.

If you’re interested, she claimed a certain percentage of homicides in Washington were perpetrated by undocumented immigrants in 2024 and I could not find any of this info in the report. Screenshot in the comments.

First time with a planted tank and my betta is so happy

I upgraded from a 5 to a 10g for our family betta. He wasn’t happy in his last home and the fake plant decor looked to be shredding his fins. I got this beautiful 10g tank, added real plants, got him some new friends, and he is so happy! He just swims around, taking his little rests on his leaves and logs.

I have more plants and moss coming in today to fill out the space a bit more, especially in the back.

I am wondering if I can add two more ember tetras (which my 4yo calls the Sheilas. I don’t know where that came from but I love it). Right now I have 5 tetras, 2 pygmy corys, 6 neocaradina, and 2 assassin snails. Our betta cohabitates really well with everyone and tank parameters have been excellent (0 ammonia, nitrite, nitrate).

I am addressing that hair/fuzz algae growth that you can see.
