Sell Privately or Trade In Car?

So hi sorry if there's a certain way when it comes to asking questions on here (first time posting here & just to clarify I am no way a car guy myself, but know the basics of when to get the oil change and all that), but title says it all, but here's the context and full story for myself

I currently drive a 2012 Chevy Sonic LS Sedan that has over 71K miles on it. It's been my first car since 2012 and my usual driving habits and uses are mostly for work and back and the casual errands. The car has been fully paid off for years now. In 2023 I got into an accident that wasn't anything major damage involved wise (only thing that was repaired and fixed was the front bumper and driver side headlight) but the insurance company called it a total loss due to the age of the car. Back then I decided to keep the car and repaired it to be a rebuilt title.

Now the last two years the car has been showing its age as I've had to replace the engine coils for the car 3 times, fix up some leaky cords and coolant issues. It's getting to the point when the costs of maintenance and repairs are getting more expensive than the value of the car itself. Recently I got an oil change and the local repairman said that they noticed something again with the coolant and tried to upsell me into repairing a lot of the engine and cords from it (costing around 3.5K)

I'm getting the car inspected tomorrow somewhere else as a second opinion and to see if it truly needs all those repairs or they were trying to get more out of me.

If the repairs are gonna be insane, I might just say screw it and go get a new car for myself instead of throwing money on a car that's not worth value wise that's gonna be an issue in some way every year

So my question is should I try to sell this car as a rebuilt/fixer upper car on a marketplace or trade it in for at least some profit for a new car. I wouldn't be surprised if the dealership doesn't take the car as much or at all due to A. the car itself being a rebuilt title and B. how it's a very invaluable car
