Giant Calathea Orbifolia needs reporting?

This is Stefano, I got him about 3 years ago. For quite a while now he hasn't been growing any new leaves and his current ones have been drooping a lot (and developed brown spots). I never repotted him and I wonder if that's part of the issue, but I also know he's a bit old now and it might just be a sign of aging.

I water him thoroughly and drain excess water once a week, though back when I first got him I used to not drain the excess at all, which mightve caused a bit of root rot. Also, as you can see he sits right next to an air vent and south facing window, which he used to handle very well but I've heard calatheas don't like that.
Over the past few months I've also been feeding him an "all purpose" plant feed, but thus far there hasn't been any sign of improvement.

Any chance somebody could help my boy Stefano out and let me know if there's anything I could do to improve his quality of life? I am slightly worried about repotting him since I've heard calatheas can be dramatic about it, so I'm mostly writing to confirm whether it's necessary or if there's anything else I can do.
