Success of Indian Onager conservation.

Success of Indian Onager conservation.

India currently hosts the 2nd largest population of onagers after Mongolia (where the population has unfortunately been declining). Their numbers have increased from as low as 350 individuals in 1960 to over 7,600 in 2024.

Confined to the Little Rann of Kutch region for the longest time, they have recently started expanding into the Great Rann of Kutch region and the neighbouring state of Rajasthan.

Maithil Babhans?

I've seen that some of y'all hold the view that Bhumihars don't exist in Mithila and few of those who live there today are a product of recent migration. Then, how come places like Darbhanga had huge Babhan population before they started identifying as Brahmans, were these Maithil Brahmins calling themselves 'Babhans' or did Bhumihars actually exist in huge numbers in Mithila before they merged their caste with Maithil Brahmins?

I can't be the only one who thinks this shouldn't happen.

Kuno already has 50+ Cheetahs, so it's natural that as their population goes up and few of them will migrate to the neighbouring state of Rajasthan or other parts of Madhya Pradesh in search of territory... what's so wrong about the natural dispersal of Cheetahs? It's probably the 3rd or 4th time they've tranquilized a cheetah and brought it back to Kuno.
