One thing keeping me from ditching Wispr Flow

I'm loving the new dictation feature in Raycast, will definitely make me start paying for Pro when it's out of beta.

However, there's one thing keeping me from fully switching away from Wispr Flow. Wispr Flow lets you do everything from a single key (I use the right Option key) that adapts its behavior depending on how you press it:

  1. Hold to talk: I hold the key, speak, release, done.
  2. Hands-free: I double-tap the key and it goes hands-free.
  3. Lock mid-session: When I start with hold-to-talk but realize it's turning into a longer thought, I just tap Spacebar to convert the session into hands-free. I can then let go of everything and keep talking.

The reason this is so useful is that you never have to decide upfront how long your thought is going to be. I always start with hold-to-talk and only switch to hands-free if I need to.

Never realized how often I do this, until I tried using Raycast dictation!

Anyone else missing this from Wispr Flow?

Some suggestions for a better Profile experience

I have written this feedback to the Dia Help Center chat already, but I thought I'd share this here as well in case someone knows more than I do about workarounds, upcoming features, or technical limitations:

Multiple times a day I have issues with the Profiles functionality of Dia for the following reasons:

  1. It's hard to switch between profiles. The drop-down menu is finicky to use, and (for me) the keyboard shortcuts of Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, Ctrl+3 are kind of hard to press on a Mac.
  2. Links from other apps always open in the frontmost window, which is rarely the correct profile.
  3. Even when I try to accept the limitation of no automatic profile choosing per site, and try to copy/paste links manually in the correct profile, it's usually hard to find my way back to the correct profile window. Either it's hidden behind the front-most window (so I don't even know if it's there or not) and I have to slide the frontmost window around to see if there is another behind it, OR, which is even worse, the profile I want to get to is minimized, meaning it doesn't show up at all unless I right-click on the app icon or do the App Exposé, which I almost never have to do for any other app.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Better keyboard shortcut customization. I was happy to see that I could remap the shortcuts for the profiles, until I realized that when setting them to Cmd+1, Cmd+2, and Cmd+3 it seems to work at first, but then actually gets overwritten by another feature that selects the first, second, and third tab in a window. There's no warning about this in the Shortcuts settings.
  • A feature to remember the most-used profile for each site (for example, I only ever want to open Google Meet links in the work profile, and YouTube links in the personal one)
  • For more advanced users, a simple dropdown to choose a default profile for a site (would fit nicely into the settings menu on the right of the address bar where the other site-specific settings are)
  • A right-click menu item to "Open Link in Profile X"
  • A more advanced Raycast extension that allows you to open a certain profile right away, or to open a Quicklink in a specific profile
  • Multiple app icons that appear dynamically in the dock when more than one profile is open, each with a little color indicator (no idea if this is technically possible). Would make it so so easy to switch between profiles, see which ones are open at a glance, always open the correct one right away, etc
