Honest question: why replace Arc instead of just adding AI to it?

Asking as a completely non technical person.

Arc had plenty of useful features. Dia lacks several of them despite adding AI.

Keeping Arc's foundation and building AI on top feels like the obvious choice to me.

What am I missing?

Groups and Tabs Management

Dia teams, please consider the following :

  • Please consider adding an option to hide the arrows next to the groups. [first screenshot]
  • PLEASE add a keyboard shortcut to collapse all opened groups. [Second screenshot from Arc settings]
  • PLEASE add option to close a tab -via mouse- without removing the tab altogether. [third screenshot from Arc]

⌘ + W Removes Splitted Tab instead of Closing them

I have a pinned splitted tabs

when I want to close them, I click ⌘ + W .

The expected result:

  • Both tabs will be closed but stay pinned.

But what happens:

  • When I click ⌘ + W, it removes one tab all together. (removed from the pinned splitted tabs)

THE TAB SHAPE , I really hate the chromelike tab shape

I would've loved if Dia went with floating tab shape instead of the connected chromelike one
AAAAaah it bothers me so much

I remember when @karrisaarinen posted on twitter his Arc horizontal tab concept before dia was a thing and Josh liked it and it was so clean and pretty

Latest update hides Google Meet tabs if you switch to a diff tab during a live mtg

If I am in a Google Meet and switch to another tab, the live Google Meet tab disappears from the list of active tabs and the only way to find it is to either use Ctrl-Tab or the "show all tabs" dropdown.

I am on MacOS (latest version) with the latest version of Dia: Version 1.38.0 (82907)

Needless to say, this is quite annoying. Anyone else seeing the same?

Whenever i give a question with an image dia ai says this:

This request contains restricted content. We can’t process this request because it includes content that might be restricted. If you think this is a mistake, let us know.

Is there a way to turn this off?

Is there a way to turn this recent downloads pop-up? I find it supremely annoying and I always have to click somewhere on the page or the side panel to remove it, and sometimes it doesn't work and I have to click on a new part of the browser. The animation itself is good enough to notify that a download has begun, i don't need this pop-up every single time!

Is it possible to change default download location?

I've tried going into the Chrome settings, but can't see anything. Find it hard to believe 'Dia' wouldn't even let you change your default download location.

Feature request (hotkey) - Moving a tab from 1 window to another

I have this use case where I work in the same space, but since tabs are not synchronized within the space — you can have 2 windows on 2 different screens with the same space, but tabs are different — I need a shortcut to quickly move a tab from one screen to a different tab on another screen within the same space. This would be ideal for a lot of users, I think.

Did Dia remove the suggestions in the new tab bar?

I used to get those little prompts for things to do, but now they’re gone.

Anyone else noticing this, or is it just me?

AI-Generated Mockup of how I want Dia to Look

Just submitted this as a feature request to the BCNY team. I would love to see an option to move the chrome all into the sidebar and to be able to get rid of those borders. FYI, ChatGPT edited an actual screenshot of Dia to create this image. Thoughts? Obviously this mockup is missing the other big feature I'm waiting for (spaces).

How long does token limit reset?

So I was chatting with Dia about my potential uni degrees, comparing them, and suddenly hit the token limit, with no timer to indicate when it resets, and no prompt to upgrade to Dia pro (because they discontinued it), so, does anyone know when the token limit resets?
