What's stopping me moving from Arc to Dia

I've tried Dia on and off since it's released, and it's slowly getting to the point where I might switch from Arc. But there are two issues that remain, and they sound stupid:

  1. Opening new tabs from your Pins/Groups by default open inside the group, rather than outside of it. I know there is a setting and it's maybe a bug, but it doesn't work. I have email, calendar, and drive in my favourites, then I have a group of pinned tabs that I cycle through for work. When new tabs open inside that group, it destroys my setup.
  2. The design of these pinned tabs in Arc is better—I like the horizontal line without indentation.

My other pet peeve was resolved from a setting—to prioritise Search over Chat when opening a new tab.

I want to ask others if there is anything stopping them from moving over?

Siu yuk with failed skin

Taste is delicious, just not all of the skin puffs up to be crispy. I’ve read all the recipes and the steps I haven’t tried:
- water bath in oven to create steam.
- using metal skewer/tenderiser instead of knife.
- baking it with heavy layer of salt.
My process is par boil, clean skin, poke with knife but not deep enough to hit meat, season meat, salt skin, vinegar on skin, fridge overnight, oven at 100C for one hour, brush oil on skin, then 200C for 35 mins.

Any other tips I might be missing?

Soil of Shame

Over the years, I’ve murdered countless plants through neglect and overindulgence in water. I put their soil remains (some with root rot) in a big pot outside on my balcony. It’s obviously been exposed to nature for years. Is it still safe to use this soil for my indoor plants? Or should I treat it somehow beforehand? It feels like a waste to buy more soil.

Short review no spoilers

TLDR: It’s enjoyable but not memorable. In the bottom half of Nolan’s work, for sure. 6/10. Watch it, but don’t have high expectations.

While the cinematography is expectedly top notch, the problem lies more in how Nolan decided to tell Odysseus’s story. I did not feel emotionally connected to the characters and invested in their journies. The jumping back and forth between parts in the timeline really broke up the sense of struggle, which is the whole point of the story.

To be fair to Nolan, when you know how the story ends, it’s hard to feel like there are real stakes.

All the hate around the casting is pretty misguided, imo. For me, the biggest issue was actually that they were all too famous. I couldn’t see them as the characters, I saw them as the actors. Too star studded.
