Looking for friends to hang out with at Anime NYC!

Hi everyone!
I’ll be going to Anime NYC by myself, and I’m hoping to find some people to explore the convention with. 😊
The only problem is… I only speak Japanese, so my English is very limited. 😅 But I’d still love to make some new friends and enjoy the event together!
If you don’t mind using a translation app or being patient with me, I’d really appreciate it. Whether it’s walking around the convention, shopping, taking photos, or just chatting about anime, I’d be happy to meet you!
Feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM. Thank you!

Going to Anime NYC alone without speaking English. Will I be okay?

I’m going to Anime NYC by myself, and honestly, I’m a little nervous. 😢 The biggest reason is that I can’t really speak English, even though I’m traveling alone. Do you think I’ll be okay? If anyone has any advice or could help me out if needed, I’d really appreciate it!

First time going to Anime NYC from Japan – Need some advice!

Hi everyone!
I’m a Japanese university student, and I’ll be traveling solo from Toronto to New York to attend Anime NYC for the first time. I’m really excited, but I’m a bit confused about how everything works, so I’d really appreciate your advice!
Here are my questions:
Which type of badge should I buy? Is a 1-day badge enough, or is a multi-day badge worth it?
Which day (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, etc.) would you recommend for a first-time visitor?
How early should I buy my badge before it sells out?
Are there any areas, events, or activities that require extra tickets or additional fees besides the admission badge?
I live in Japan (I’ll be studying in Canada when I visit). How does badge pickup work for international visitors? Do I choose Will Call, or is there another option?
I enjoy photography and plan to bring my camera. Is it okay to take photos of cosplayers if I ask for permission? Do people usually expect payment, or is it free?
I’d also love to hear any tips for a first-time attendee. What are the must-see areas, and what shouldn’t I miss?
Thank you so much for your help! I’m really looking forward to experiencing my first Anime NYC.
